Patriotic teenagers in the birthplace of the American Revolution held their ground and fought back attempts by school administrators to cancel an American Pride dance on April 10 and replace it with a more inclusive event.
(snip)
Principal Laura Lasa told me the April 10th dance had never been canceled. They merely wanted to dialogue with students about inclusivity.
We were in a conversation with the kids about how the theme would be presented so that we could make sure that it was inclusive to all students, Lasa said. they took that as being told they could not.

Over the weekend, Lasa said administrators listened carefully to the feedback they received and on Monday, March 23 they decided to let the kids stick with the American Pride theme.
Were supporting that student decision, the principal told me.
Notice how she phrased that the student decision?
Were going forward with supporting their theme of American Pride, she added.
Again, notice the emphasis on their theme? Its not the schools theme. Its the students theme. Heaven forbid the administrators be caught trying to promote American patriotism.

“Inclusivity” sure does leave out a lot of people.
Maybe there was rumblings of recall petitions being circulated to remove members of the school board unless they told the superintendent and principal to back down?
dialogue is not a verb.
Principal Laura Lasa manages her stress by smiling when she lies. Hillary taught her how.
She desperately needs a stylist.
How cute.
The principal is a retro-hippie chick who thinks the United States is an evil place.
Just too cute.
“The principal acted stupidly”.
Apparently even in a liberal utopia like Lexington there are still a few patriots left and the principal got some pushback.
What is more inclusive than American?
What was the fear...maybe they feared as obama would the kids would exclude members of, Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Hamas!

Just wondering: How many students are non-citizens? If the school has non-citizens in the school, how did they end up in the United States and in an American school?
To me, if the non-citizen students and their families are on the legal path to citizenship, then they should be enthusiastic to take part in such a celebration in their new adopted country.
For what it is worth: the wife and visited Lexington in September on a school day. At 10 AM the streets were flooded with school kids wandering around, going into shops and eateries. No one, including parents of kids we asked, had any idea why. It wasn’t a holiday. Nobody in town seemed to know why their kids weren’t inside the schools they sent them to earlier in the AM.
Shoveling SH*T at the masses again. Liberals are incapable of anything resembling accountability for their own ignorant actions.
How could a theme of American pride not be inclusive of the students who would be attending? Does someone plan on bringing bus loads of foreign students to the dance?
Looks like a man.
Yeah, really professional looking outfit there, huh?
It’s hideous.
The use of the word “dialog” pretty much sums up the idiocy of the faculty.
Fire their little left wing as...er...Obamaholes and hire some teachers who actually know their history.
Considering her salary is undoubtedly well into six figures, she might want to consider shopping for clothes somewhere other than Kmart.
