After last election cycle, when Colorado House Republicans received 189,000 more votes than House Democrats, we began to highlight how grossly gerrymandered the statehouse has become. Now, even the liberals at the Daily Kos blog are acknowledging that the Colorado House is the Democrats best chamber in the entire nation. It favors Democrats even more than Californias general assembly.
The reapportionment process is obviously deeply flawed
...
Democrat obstructionists in the House should be careful. While they may think theyre the party of the people, theyre not actually representing the majority of people who voted in the last election. And thats a sticky position to be in. The moment House Speaker Dicky Lee Hulinghorst starts to think she earned her majority instead of stole it, is the moment that things will start to fall apart.

Ya, but you know that everything from carrying an unlicensed firearm to gerrymandering to election fraud to failing to consult with Congress or Parliament (Canada) and everything in between is OK as long as you are a Democrat or Liberal.

No problem. All we need to do is repeal the 17th amendment, and that chamber will magically come to their senses and begin appointing nothing but patriotic Thomas Jefferson clones who represent "state interests" in the U.S. Senate.
As an added bonus, once the 17th is repealed, voters will "pay more attention" to their state legislative races, and this will magically result in Republicans winning a majority in gerrymandered seats rigged to elect a Democrat.

Gerrymandering: a bipartisan effort. Many politicians would like to have jobs for life. Their clusters of favored constituents, partial to particular lucrative policies and immunities, would like that even more.
The rest of us don't say much about it,
but we see (see last item in Billwatch table, before it moves).

Damn right, that Article V nonsense would work out just about as well as Obama’s foreign policy.
