BTW, why would a person need more government experience to be President?

Is it not government, it’s management and it’s policies causing most of the problems?

Because Obama’s problems, believe it or not, are completely unconnected with the fact that he came in as a one term senator.

I really like Walker, not see where he stands on immigration but would give him the benefit of doubt. However I am more Ligned with Cruz, just worry about his electability in general election. However, if he got all conservatives and most libertarians to get out and vote he could make it.

For six years, Republicans have said the nation made a mistake electing a one term Senator the President of the United States. Why should you, a one term Senator, be the GOP's nominee?

Erick, ol' buddy, ol' pal, is the problem with Obama that he is a one-term Senator? Or is it that he is an anti-American, radical left-wing Communist with Muslim sympathies?

Let each candidate make their case and decide from there.

"Thats why “Gov”sss ... CARTER, CLINTON, BUSH were all GREAT PRESIDENTS!!!!!!"

Good point. Carter was both Senator and Gov! What did that get us?

Who the hell on our side is looking for a lifetime of Gov't experience anyway?

Also, to say Obama is not a successful president is an entirely myopic view. He has whooped ass on the majority party in the People's House for years. And now handily beats the majority in the Senate too.

Just because he is not doing what we want does not make him unsuccessful. He has gotten just about everything he wants. Including new powers! How on earth is he not successful?

He is very successful.

He's just evil, that's all.

Not the Anti-Christ or anything though. He is neither good looking enough nor intelligent enough for that job.

He is the Anti-American.

Not for nothing, he sounds like a great candidate for the SCOTUS.

Carter was a State Senator, not a U.S. Senator. Doesn’t make him suck less, but we should a precise.

Yes . Ted Cruz has had administrative positions in the Tx state govt. and Marco Rubio was the Speaker of the Fl house. Far more experience than the emperor at being in charge of something

I’m very impressed with the resume of Sen. Cruz, and with his apparent values and his ability to get his views across. I believe that he is a principled man, and I’d be happy to see someone like him as President.

However, I’m also very impressed with Scott Walker.

Can anyone tell me their real differences, and why I should vote for one over the other?

Good point.

Still, both legislative and executive experience.

...and a farmer, a born again Christian, a veteran, etc...

You can't choose a good American president just by ticking off some of these supposed qualifications.

If there is one guy / gal out there who can keep an oath, I'll vote for them.

Ted does seem like one of the most likely ones to do that.

And I'm from Walkersconsin.

Let each candidate make their case and decide from there.

You need someone like Bush to make his case? I think we know what his case is all about. Much is known about the rest too.

In politics people comment, attack, debate, criticize and bad mouth everyone, right down to what they're wearing. It's the way it is. People even commit crimes and get violent over it. This is nothing new. This is how it works.

Constitutional Conservatives are more experienced because they are Constitutional Conservatives period. Leftists who are governers or businessowners are more incompetent because they are Leftists.

Meanwhile, Obama spent a semester as a law school lecturer, lecturing about introductory constitutional law to very bored law students.

We conservatives who have opposed Obama from the date of his first announcement as a candidate have never grounded our objections to him exclusively or even primarily in his lack of administrative experience. My objection to Obama has always been his ideology. He is a communist.

To object to Obama because he was only a one term senator is akin to objecting to Obama because he is only a fraction Irish. It is akin to claiming that Obama is stupid, he is not, he is a communist. It is akin to claiming that Obama cannot speak intelligently without a Teleprompter, he can and he does all the time.

There is plenty in Obama's biography to complain about and it all stems from ideology. There is much in Obama's administration of the office of president to complain about and in all stems not from his lack of experience but from his ideology.

I check a candidate's ideology first and then explore his character and, finally, I rate his experience. When it comes to evaluating experience it is not a question of checking boxes as is so often done by the military, it is a question of the issues faced and the decisions made.

Any rational evaluation of Ted Cruz's biography leads only to the conclusion that he has excelled to an extraordinary level in every task he has undertaken. This valuation is not what we are so used to seeing turned out on behalf of Democratic candidates whom, we are told election cycle after election cycle, is the smartest man (now woman) whoever graced the earth. Cruz's accomplishments are extraordinary because they are real.
