The range of people who like him is huge within the consrvative tent; from libertarian leaners, the social conservatives (evangelicals), those interested in an economic resurgence, to those who want to retransform our military. He will do well with all of them. I also think the mushy middle will like him as they actually hear him directly.

All told, that's a great start.

The main reason I prefer him over Walker is how well he deals with the media. He is so good when ambushed, and can take on ANY of them one on one, or even one against many. His ability to explain conservatism may be the best since Reagan. My only misgiving is his lack of executive experience, but I'm letting go on that one for now.

Good post, and allow me a few thoughts on the executive experience thing: the Presidency is not an executive position now....hasn’t been in years. It’s a leadership position, a set the direction position, a bully pulpit position.

Consider Obama: zero executive experience, and yet, he’s accomplished EVERYTHING he wanted to. How? Not through competence - but through appointing like minded people throughout government.

If Ted Cruz can do FOR America what Obama has done TO America - it will be an astonishing success indeed.
