The Left Goes Berserk: This Is Why Liberals' Heads Are Exploding Over Cruz's Speech
PJ Media ^ | 03-23-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 03/23/2015 4:27:59 PM PDT by Michael van der Galien

There’s something interesting going on online. Just go to Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ and search for “Ted Cruz,” “#TedCruz2016″ or “Ted Cruz candidate.” Do you notice something?

That’s right, people’s heads are truly exploding.

Many conservative activists are celebrating Cruz’s official announcement that he’ll run for president. They believe he’s just what they and the rest of America need: a principled, small-government conservative who sticks to his guns no matter what...

But why are leftists’ heads exploding as well? I’ve got no doubt I know the answer: they fear him. Tremendously even. He is everything they oppose: a true, small-government conservative. And that’s not all; he’s also articulate, has a spine, and is highly educated. On top of all that, he’s one of the few Republican politicians who are able to energize the conservative base. That’s the same group of voters who stayed home in 2012 and 2008, thereby handing the presidency to Obama.

At LEAST 40 points (do I hear sixty?), plus a natural ability to communicate. I read earlier he did his Liberty U speech with no notes, and no teleprompter. I only had time for half of it today, and it was impressive.

Now THAT's a strong candidate.

Yep, from his heart, and his brain.

Teleprompter, your services are no longer needed.

No, let them bleed out. As Rush said today, you don’t send people to Washington to work with the democrats. You defeat them.

“Peter King ... a ‘loudmouth who cares only about himself’.”

A little projection going on there by the miniature mad dog.

I hope we can get Cruz to run as a third party candidate with the Tea Party. Right now we have the Democrat Party and Democrat Lite party. I’m sick of it. We need to go it on our own.

Cruz also terrifies the left because he is Hispanic and will take the case for legal immigration straight to that community is Spanish. Hillary and Liz will need interpreters.
This advantage is enormous. The left waa counting on that voting block and they are no longer a certainty.

No no....no no no. The way you take back the party is through the Presidential nominee. A nominee, and if he/she wins the Oval, IS THE HEAD OF THE PARTY. Thus, if Cruz is nominee, then by definition, we have taken control of the party. Not 100% - and there will be defectors and traitors - but it's a major massive step. And in total, far easier than knocking off 4,5,6 incumbent Senators for example.

Exactly: we don’t have the luxury of time to start a third party, at the rate zero is destroying us.

Yep, and even with Reagan, the hold on the party was tenuous...it was always a battle. It always will be. Conservatives need to grow up, wake up, and realize it.

Cruz told us he’s using the 1980 and ‘04 elections as his model. I remember every minute of ‘04, but I was a teen when Reagan won in ‘80, so I need to brush up on what happened in that campaign. I’m hoping there are enough Reagan men still around to assist him.

He’s way more 1980 and 84 than he is 2004....which is a good thing!

Just heard this from Levin.....as you can tell, he is saying exactly what I was saying about executives, managers, etc.....that no, we need a VISIONARY who can “hire the managers” - like Reagan.

He even used my Obama analogy.

My initial memory is Reagan got a lot of traction from the Misery Index. The feds fake the numbers too much now.

I think all the benefits available now from the fedgov (financed by fake $$) really have skewed the impact of a bad economy.

Obama seemed to have no trouble winning in 2012 with $4 gas, 8% unemployment, surging food prices, and trillion dollar deficits.

I remember wearing a tshirt with Mickey Mouse giving the finger to Iran, and learning what ‘stagflation’ means.

I remember my WWII Sicilian grandfather praying to his home-altar for Reagan to win, and celebrating when he did. Reagan personally waved to me when I was 17 and the only one on his motorcade route right outside where I worked in downtown Austin and I was the only friendly, waving one, anchored away from the moonbats with NoMoRon signs.

I remember the first time SDI was demonstrated conceptually on CNN and hootin’ and hollerin’ about it. My only conservative friends at UT campus were spooks in training, busy stalking the SDS and I learned a LOT about Gorbachev.
