Oh gee, the HORROR.....Mrs. Cruz worked on W's campaign and as an "adviser" on financial matters vis-a-vis South America, which happens to be an area of expertise for her. How does THAT make her a "GLOBALIST"?

Cruz has boldly stated his positions on so many things and has yet to show himself to be a hypocrite or a flip-flopper. Do you believe that he is lying ?

The tone of text is sometimes not easily discerned. Of course Bush was better than Gore!

Just curious, do you really think the word "Libertarian" is derived from "Libertine"?

If the idea of "Libertarianism" can be impugned by it's relation to the word "Libertine", can the ideas behind "liberty" also be impugned?

Is it possible that one can have certain opinions as it applies to religion and moral rights and wrongs, and different opinions as it applies to the appropriate use of collective force? For example, could one believe that it is morally wrong to:.....

*hire a prostitute
*cheat on your wife
*drink alcohol
*smoke marijuana
*use the Lord's name in vain
*be greedy
*covet your neigbor's stuff
*masturbate
*have gay sex

....while at the same time believing that we should not use collective force to engage in violence against someone who does such things?

“Is it possible that one can have certain opinions....”

My OPINION is this. Except for 2nd Ammendment issues, Libertarians have no problem with things and practices that SHOULD NEVER be allowed to be practiced freely. That is to be LIBERTINE. I vehemently object to that and always will. I consider “Libertarinism” to be a horrid thing that is every bit as bad a liberalism. Actually, it is moral liberalism - a anything goes version of “I’m OK and you are OK.” A “vice” (like prostitution or illicit drugs) is never a liberty...and it is a perversion of the word to link the two.

The students at Liberty University that pulled that stunt should be disciplined and quite possibly expelled for NOT upholding the moral standards and decorum expected of student at that institution. They knew the standards and views of that institution when they enrolled and had to agree to them. Paul is NOT conservative. And quite frankly he is a corrupter of the naïve youth of the country. I consider him worse than the left. His father was a nut case and he is little better.

I watched the speech and didn’’t even realize what they were wearing. I thought it was some gay group or Flock of Seagulls fans.

To: who knows what evil?

You should take your evidence to Liberty University. That’s an expulsion-level offense there.

President Falwell invited Senator Paul to speak at a convocation in 2013. You should write Falwell a stern letter telling him to expel himself.

“President Falwell invited Senator Paul to speak at a convocation in 2013. You should write Falwell a stern letter telling him to expel himself.”

That just makes my case even more that the students’ behavior was bad, in that Liberty University asks a variety of persons to speak.

Rand isn’t quite as extreme as his father was, but he is still infected with the pernicious libertine evil called Libertarianism. He is entirely dishonest to run as a Republican.

A “vice” (like prostitution or illicit drugs) is never a liberty...and it is a perversion of the word to link the two.

Do you consider sticking your finger in a light socket a "liberty"????

The funny thing about vices is that they come with their own built in punishment.

We can agree that sticking your finger in a light socket is bad but how much should we punish people for doing so? A libertarian would say that we should allow them to be punished with ~110 volts of electricity. That would be the natural consequence of their action and nothing would need to be done by society to the transgressor. We could teach our children the dangers of electricity. We could talk about it at church. Private researchers could write scientific papers detailing the negative affects of sticking your finger in a light socket but ultimately if someone is stupid enough to do it, they have that "right". On the other hand, I guess what you are saying is that we should build in a special sensor so that a socket that normally runs at 110v would be boosted to 220v when a finger is detected. This is for their own good of course. This way we can be sure they won't do it again.

Libertarians have no problem with things and practices that SHOULD NEVER be allowed to be practiced freely.

Go back and watch the speech. The kids in the Rand shirts applauded many times.

Notice the points at which they did so.

Then come back and tell me how you know better what is in someone's heart.

The libertarian movement isn't about enabling individual people to do bad things. It is about preventing people from pooling their collective power into governments and using their monopoly of violence for things that they don't absolutely need to.

I support Cruz and I plan to do everything I can to help him win. If Paul ends up winning instead, I could vote for him. Those are the only Republicans who I believe actually want something different than the GOPe Republican'ts who are more than happy to loose election after election and debate after debate to the socialists.
