Davonna Hendon planned to take her son, Demonie, to Chuck E. Cheese's for his birthday Saturday. The 2-year-old was so excited that, last week, as they passed the interstate, he pointed to the sign and said that was the way to Chuck E. Cheese's.
But Davonna Hendon won't be able to take Demonie to a birthday party Saturday.
"I've got to bury him on his birthday," she said through tears Friday night.
Demonie died after he drank grape soda laced with methadone in Bessemer last Friday night. The bottle had apparently been left unattended by a babysitter. The babysitter realized the bottle wasn't where she left it, and she saw Demonie was sick. She took him to UAB Medical West hospital, then to another home, then to Children's of Alabama hospital.

Sure it does. The kid OD’s, so you take hime to a hospital, where they presumably say “Yep, he’s OD’d, give hime a ride to a friend’s home, and then maybe another hospital”. Clear as mud, really.

I just checked out that facebook page. Click on her photos. They tell a lot about the climate in which this little one was raised.
Good gosh, if that final picture is after the fact, as in mug shot, it’s incredible to think even for one second she would not be scared to death herself, sick over what happened, and frightened out of whatever state she was in. In which case I would expect her to be able to keep her eyes open!! WOW!!
