Just listing to Jamie Dupree, it’s more likely that Cruz wanted to seize the “evangelicals” from Santorum and Huckabee. If so, this is smart because, while Santorum was going nowhere, there was a danger that Huckabee would split this vote (and Huckabee likes to do this intentionally to assist the Establishment).

Wait a minute. Paul supporters at Liberty University? Granted, Rand is a little more conservative than the old man, but he’s pretty much a libertarian on social issues. He’s essentially a RINO, yet he has supporters at a conservative institution? What am I missing here?

Cruz has many leadership attributes one of which he employed today, he is a strategist, most would have thought Cruz would make his announcement in Texas, instead he did so where he was not a favorite son politically, yet still appreciated considered by the crowd maybe as a second choice, I think Cruz knows something and I know in my gut as well, sooner or later; Rand Paul will blow up, as will Scott Walker. Cruz is like a rock securely anchored unmovable in his efforts to restore, protect, defend and promote our most exceptional Constitutional Free Republic.
Another thing about Cruz he has a most rare ability to bring emotion/feelings to facts a strategy that cannot be easily duplicated.
