For all I know, Stephen King likes living in Maine. Cannot for the life of me fathom why it would be worth $1.4 MM per year in taxes to live there. But it apparently is to him.

It's home. He was born there and has almost all his life there. Why is that so hard to understand?

It’s out of his abundance that he pays, not out of poverty. He’s not going to not be able to buy something because he paid his taxes.
