I remember a kid in school (somewhere around 4th or 5th grade) getting a -5 because, not only did he get every question wrong, but he also misspelled his name. Our teacher was one tough lady.

Hmm, I thought all American schools grade by letters, A being the best followed by B C D and F as the failing grade.

I was born and raised in Germany and went to school there. 1 was the the best you could get, followed by 2 3 4 and 5 as failing
