Stupid ass whitey.

If you're going to blame something as the "organized theft of black wealth", blame the NBA for no longer allowing adults to go pro at 18.

That, in a nutshell, explains why liberals and moslems are always on the same side. Neither are happy about anything... Misery loves company!

But do you consider it a theft of black wealth? I think that was the topic at hand.

How can you answer that when the premise is so silly......

Interesting.

The subtext is that the athletes are actually creating wealth and are therefore deserving of being compensated from it.

How does that tie in to the notion that all wealth is generated by The People, and should be confiscated and distributed evenly by the State?

Why should students with a talent for basketball be compensated for their skills, while a student with a talent for breaking new ground in Trans Studies simply be saddled with an enormous college debt?

“Well, I could have been most anything that I put my mind to be.
But a cowboy’s life was the only life for me.
It’s a strong mans occupation
Riding herd on dusty trails.
But a strong man often fails
Where a shrewd man will prevail.
I’m an old man now with nothing left to say.
But, oh God how I worked my youth away!”

My team Wisconsin currently starts three white guys, one half native American, and one black guy. Two of the key subs are white. Wisconsin has about as good a chance as any other team to upset Kentucky and win the title. Does anyone really believe that if every team were as white as Wisconsin, leftist dopes like Zirin would be complaining about the theft of white wealth?

Zirin exists for one reason: to prove that everything in America has been stolen from blacks and other minorities. Whites will always be guilty of awful racism, always oppressing minorities who would be living lives of luxury except for nasty white people.

"liberals...never happy"

You're right...for liberals the glass is always half empty.

Actually, Zirin is an arch-leftist. Liberals just waste money...leftists want to totally destroy the system that has made so many black athletes incredibly wealthy.

I assume that some if not most of these kids have this one shot at success

Somehow, you're forgetting they're getting a college education in addition to the basketball. THAT should be their real shot at success.

When the starting five of all-black Kentucky finish their only year of college ball, they'll all declare for the draft. All of them will sign million dollar plus contracts with the pros as has many black Kentucky and non-Kentucky black athletes for the past thirty-forty years. I guess that point has escaped Zirin.

Current athletes basically intern at college. I would bet most have little to zero interest in academics. But most black students at major colleges do not make it to the pros. Going to college gives them a chance to earn a legitimate degree and make money in a non-sports career. And strangely enough, the same is true for non-black athletes.

Zirin knows that the great majority of black athletes in major universities are severely unprepared for anything but playing sports. So he tries to make it out that they're being robbed by the system and deserve lots of money. Bs. They're getting a free ride and a chance at something many non-blacks do not get. If they can't take advantage of it...too bad.

And to be sure, most scholarship athletes in colleges will never make any money playing pro ball. If they screw up their college years...whose fault is it?

Most students, white or black, with athletic scholarships never make it the pros. But with their scholarships they get paid free tuition, room and board. And that's not counting all the little amenities provided by slush funds from alumni.

If they can't take advantage of the situation, whose fault is it? Not every school makes money off their athletic programs. Why should they further pay athletes who are already getting their tuition and other things paid for? The facts are: they shouldn't.

These highly recruited black players are getting a free ride, no study courses, an A just for being able to breath, and tickets for their families to atrend the games. All they have to do is talk without marbles in their heads and mouths.

I used to really enjoy college basketball. So far this year I have watched about 45 seconds of play.

As far as actual games, you've got me beat by 45 seconds, but I have seen some espn and local sports clips that exceed that amount of time.

I'll prolly start watching some of the sweaty 16 or 8 the hard way.

NCAA is a money making proposition...that the white people support and pay for....

it affords a lot of black kids free college including room and board simply for being on the team....they don't necessarily have to even be good at it....

its the best break they'll ever get in their lives....

I get really upset when "they" talk about paying players....the players are already getting paid....free college which runs into the hundreds of thousands of dollars at many institutions and all the free glorification and all that follows...

OTOH....the poor nursing students and teaching students and accounting students and pre med students get to face dramatically increasing college costs and NOBODY GIVES A DANG ABOUT THEM....

the NCAA likes to say that sports keeps the cost of college down...well, not for the vast majority....they're paying thru the nose to keep their professors fat and happy...

I also think that the NBA and NFL should have post HS teams so the non students can just go there instead of clogging up college campuses taking petty made up courses and pretend they are college material...
