New York City television anchor and Strongsville native Lisa Colagrossi died Friday after suffering a brain aneurysm a day earlier.
Colagrossi, 49, who anchored weekend morning news for NBC station WKYC-TV (Channel 3) in Cleveland in the early 1990s, became ill while on a reporting assignment for WABC-TV. She was also a morning anchor for the station.
The station confirmed her death early Saturday in a lengthy tribute. Earlier, a Twitter post by anchor Sade Baderinwa said "hearts are broken" at the station over Colagrossi's death.

Good friend of mine died a few weeks ago at 56 from the same thing. He had headaches for about 2 weeks and then collapsed in his bedroom getting ready for work. I’m not sure if a trip to the Doctor would’ve helped but he didn’t see one for the headaches.
RIP to Mrs. Colagrossi. This happened to the 58 YO wife of a friend of mine. It just goes to show we are all subject to being recalled without warning.
May Ms. Colagrossi rest in peace and may our merciful Lord grant comfort to her loved ones.
I know a few people who have died from them. My friend’s MIL is one who amazingly survived. They were on vacation in Mexico and her headache was so bad she insisted on seeing a doctor. Her husband thought she was crazy, but she insisted so he took her. It was an aneurism and they were able to treat it. Amazing.
Oh, so sad. So young. RIp.
49 yr old co worker of mine suddenly died of a brain aneurysm leaving behind a husband and 2 teen sons; many of her friends were weeping as they laid her to rest. I don’t know if smoking is a cause but she was a smoker (went outside to have a smoke and was found a couple hrs later) and worried about the health of her own mother at the time.
If you see primordial dwarfs on TV, the very petite (like one who was 33 inches tall and weighed 20 pounds in his twenties), they are a high risk for them and several have died
Stu Shostak, host of Stu’s Show (internet talk show where they interview the likes of Carl Reiner, Dick Van Dyke, “The Unknown Comic”, Stan Freberg) was on the phone with his girlfriend Jeanine Kasun when he could tell something was wrong with her; she had suffered one and paramedics rushed to save her. She made a complete recovery thanks to fast action (and one show had interviews with the paramedics). Stu’s a lefty politically and defended Obamacare for helping with the monumental expenses, but they did save her...
Is there any link to a history of migraines, do you know?
My mother survived a near-fatal aneurysm at 49, with scarcely any long term damage, caused by a dominant genetic trait with “incomplete penetrance” which means that this trait is variable in its expression. I seem to have escaped inheriting it, or else I’ve escaped its full expression, based on scans, but I do worry some for my children if it’s the latter case. God keep them safe.
I don’t think there’s any link to migraines. A cerebral aneurysm is a congenital weak spot or tangle of vessels, and migraines are more of a hypersensitivity.
To my relief, because I and two of my children have migraines. My mother suffered an aneurysm, and never had migraines.
Happened to my Dad a month after his 35th bday.
Family friend had this happen while she was visiting her daughter at the hospital. If there hadn’t been a doctor right there, right then, she’d have died within minutes.
She lost of lot of cognitive ability for a while, but has come back nicely - the brain is a plastic instrument. That was 20 or so years ago and she’s still kicking around nicely.
There was a female reporter several years ago who lost her speaking ability right on the air live. She was whisked away pretty quickly and treated on the spot.
A few days later she was back, looked and sounded fine, with some explanation that didn’t sound quite right.
I’m wondering if this was the same woman.
I don’t know, but wish I did as I have struggled with migraines. One was so bad a few years ago that I went to urgent care, they did a scan (MRI?) to look for an aneurism. Thankfully, all was clear and a shot of painkiller took care of it.
Singer Laura Brannigan died from one.

Seems that headaches prior is the common warning sign.
Yes...headaches seem to be a sign...friend of ours mother died of aneuryism...then our friend was exercising and had headaches every time at gym...got herself to doc and she caught the aneuryism before it killed her.
