“A knowledgable source said that the textbook discusses an EMP attack on America in 20 different places.”

Twenty different places spaced across the country would take out ALL the grid. It would take more than a year (think years) to repair all the damage - for one thing, we wouldn’t have enough major huge transformers to replace all the fried ones (I don’t mean the small ones in your neighborhood).

Yes, the article says 90% of people in this country would die. Got water and food? The radiation factor would not be like a nuclear bomb exploded close to earth. These blasts would require going off higher in the atmosphere to knock out all the power grid. I don’t know what the radiation factor would be to humans if the blasts are high in the atmosphere.

Recalling the explanation given to congress by scientists in 2011 (blast high in atmosphere), I don’t remember them saying people would die from that radiation. I think I would remember that if they said it. I’ll have to gather that info. again.
