Tunisia's president said late Wednesday that his country was "in a war with terror" and condemned what he described as "savage minority groups" after gunmen stormed a museum in the capital, Tunis, killing 23 people.

Meanwhile, early Thursday, the country's prime minister told French radio station RTL that one of the attackers was known to the country's intelligence services, but no formal link had been established with any terror groups.

The deadliest attack on civilians in the North African country since 2002 began early Wednesday afternoon when two militants wearing military-style uniforms and wielding assault rifles burst from a vehicle and began gunning down tourists climbing out of buses at the National Bardo Museum.

The attackers, identified as Yassine Laabidi and Hatem Khachnaoui, then charged inside to take hostages before being killed in a firefight with security forces. Prime Minister Habib Essid said that said Laabidi had been flagged to intelligence, although not for "anything special."

This is an enormous tragedy. I don’t think most Americans have fully absorbed or even thought about what happened in Tunis today. The Dems are still busy complaining about Bibi’s victory over Obola. At the same time, we are used to seeing war in that part of the world. so it may not even seem like an actual News Event. A ‘water is wet’ kind of moment.

Well it's not surprising that people who can't even see their own society becoming third world aren't too worried about others.

It is a real tragedy. Just like that last mall disaster in Africa a while back. Never fear, our DHS is on the job making sure that racist white sovereignistas aren’t plotting nefariously to do the same. That is, when the DHS isn’t busy spending all their time hand-delivering illegal immigrants to their relatives and dispersing the rest through out the 50 states.

Makes you wonder if most of this wouldn’t have happened if we hadn’t pulled out of Iraq. Obama’s a monumental fool.

I suspect that most Americans get it more than the DC crowd does. Any safety net we might have had has just been threaded. There was still an expectation that cruise lines with their tours chose places that were safe and had some security and knowledge in place. Tunisia has become a cruise stop because of the many other locations that are no longer safe.

With what ISIS is doing to historical sites in Iraq, you'd think museums and such were under heavy guard.

I wonder if anyone in charge of anything is capable of good analysis and planning anymore.

Exterminating terrorists is commendable.
Do not take prisoners. Do rehabilitate. Just kill the SOBs.

FWIW, just one day before the terror attack on the museum:
