TEL AVIV After a bruising campaign focused on his failings, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel won a clear victory in Tuesdays elections and seemed all but certain to form a new government and serve a fourth term, though he offended many voters and alienated allies in the process.
With 99.5 percent of the ballots counted, the YNet news site reported Wednesday morning that Mr. Netanyahus Likud Party had captured 29 or 30 of the 120 seats in Parliament, sweeping past his chief rival, the center-left Zionist Union alliance, which got 24 seats.

“Must not have had many failings, given the size of the win.”
By all accounts last nite it was too close to call. Another case of lib media wishful thinking? I was worried sick all nite Bibi was losing.

Would the NYT ever say of a liberal pol, “though he offended many voters and alienated allies in the process”?

It's not like Obama didn't do the exact opposite, he won twice by lying about his actual political positions, and then proceeded to offend pretty much everyone except his hard core supporters. Which is better, to lay your views and positions out in the open and have the election be about real issues, or to hide your true thoughts and win the election based on lies, so you can implement an agenda you never articulated during the campaign? I know which side the NYT is on . . .

Congress should send another bust over to Israel to congratulate Netanyahu. Perhaps one of Reagan. and he Brits send one of Churchill

Yesterday, the Leftist Media was reporting this as "a tight race", yet here, today, it is being reported as a "sound defeat".
Amazing. Nice try, assholes.

Media reports prior to the election had Bibi and Likud trailing.
Just like good socialist propagandist. Attempt to influence an election. These people are despicable, devious.
We conservatives better get our act together. They don't screw around. The do what it takes...whatever it takes, to win.

“Thank God for the election results! The free world still has a leader. Thank you, Lord”!
My thoughts and words exactly! This was a kick in the azz of Lucifer-lovin’ obozo (you'll recall that Alinsky dedicated his book, Rules For Radicals, to Lucifer...obozo loves this book and follows the 12 rules.) I want that beast in our White House to chafe a little bit each and every time he fails to achieve a goal, and that the chafing develops into a raging rash in his azz, where our collective razor-edged shoe tips have lodged themselves.

The people of Israel voted as if their lives depended on it. Good for them! They made the right choice! It saved their lives to keep Bibi in charge!
Now if we could only get the morons in this country to vote as if their lives depended on it we would be okay.
To: Haiku Guy
Looks like the “center-left Zionist Union alliance” (LMAO), offended more voters and supporters...
Gotta love a good itch slap to Obama’s political mug!
(I’m sure they think the Democrat party in the U. S. is center left too.)

Same here. I don’t know demographics of the region. I know Israel says they’ll never return Golan heights so I assume it was Syrian before 7 day war
