The Pentagon is unable to account for more than $500 million in U.S. military aid given to Yemen amid fears that the weaponry, aircraft and equipment is at risk of being seized by Iranian-backed rebels or al-Qaeda, according to U.S. officials.
With Yemen in turmoil and its government splintering apart, the Defense Department has lost its ability to monitor the whereabouts of U.S.-donated small arms, ammunition, night-vision goggles, patrol boats, vehicles and other supplies. The situation has grown worse since the United States closed its embassy in Sanaa, the capital, last month and withdrew many of its military advisers.
In recent weeks, members of Congress have held closed-door meetings with U.S. military officials to press for an accounting of the arms and equipment. Pentagon officials have said they have little information to go on and that there is little they can do at this point to prevent the weapons and gear from falling into the wrong hands.

"Yemens government was toppled in January by Shiite Houthi rebels, who receive support from Iran"
The Obama Administration has given terrorists sophisticated US arms and who kniows what else.
Unintentional, I'm certain.
These arms went directly to the bad guys, I’m sure.
I’ve been thinking that much of the stuff going on in the Middle East recently has had a lot of help and influence from the US.
Oh gosh http://www.worldtribune.com/2013/04/09/20000-u-s-m-16s-stolen-from-unguarded-warehouse-in-kuwait/ what a terrible thing here, we left 20,000 infantry machineguns unguarded in Kuwait! Oh golly we can’t find the guns, rockets, and electronics we left on the dock in Yemen! Oh no Muslim Brotherhood wins AGAIN!
And what about Benghazi and rockets?
Again, I harken back to when the US FedBudget was first measured in billions. You don’t lose track of half your budget.
Meanwhile, the USS Olympia that fired the first shot of the Spanish American war, and that brought home the unknown soldier from WWI needs 20 million for dry docking.
Because they don’t have money for that, they are discussing sinking it as a reef. Bastards poured that money down a rathole.
They want to arm the terrorists. Like they did in Libya.
I question the belief (by our government) that there are "good guys" in Yemen. There are bad, and there are worse.
I used to live in Yemen back in the early 90s.
obama demanded it.

Navy Strategic Air Wing Commander Fired
WASHINGTON Mar 17, 2015, 5:07 PM ET
By ROBERT BURNS AP National Security Writer
The Navy fired the commander of an organization whose aircraft allow the president and the secretary of defense to directly contact the submarines, bombers and land-based missiles that comprise the nation’s strategic nuclear force.
A Navy statement said Capt. Heather E. Cole was relieved of her duties as commander of Strategic Communications Wing 1, based at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, for what it called a “loss of confidence” in her ability to lead.
A spokeswoman, Cmdr. Jeannie Groeneveld, said the firing was based on findings of an investigation into her management of the wing. Details were not released.
Cole’s air wing has no role in operating nuclear weapons but is responsible for the Navy squadrons whose E-6B Mercury aircraft provide communications links between the president and the nuclear forces.

Just another rusting reminder of a colonialist history carried out by Christians & financed by Jews.
Not to mention being a really nifty big old reminder of how America used to react to crises...that has been allowed to deteriorate by the people we've become.
Nope. Just part of the surrender deal our President made with the enemy at Benghazi.
