Netanyahu: 'Arab voters are coming out in droves'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sounded alarm on Tuesday over high voter turnout among Arabs in the country’s Knesset election, urging supporters to get their friends and family to vote for his Likud party. “The right-wing government is in danger. Arab voters are coming out in droves to the polls. Left-wing organizations are bussing them out,” Netanyahu said in a 28-second video in Hebrew posted on his Facebook page, according to a translation by Haaretz. “Get out to vote, bring your friends and family, vote Likud in order to close the gap between us and ‘Labor.’”

I like Bibi but that statement is ugly. Arabs make up 20% of Israel's population and have the right to vote as any Jewish citizen. Imagine a GOP politician saying "Black voters are coming out in droves". The Arabs for the first time have united under a single party. Interesting unintended consequence of a change in the minimum % of votes a party needs to get a MK pushed by parties to the right of Likud. There were 4 Arab parties splitting the vote and the supporters of the law thought the threshold would shut out Arabs all together.

Sounds like Obola’s busing of ACORN operatives to Israel is paying off!

Popular mass democracy will prove to be the downfall of Israel, not Iranian nukes or terrorist threats and attacks.

Raising the threshold has backfired and may give Arab radicals even more clout.

No one thought the Arabs would come out and power the Joint List over the top. It looks set to better the 2013 showing of the smaller Arab communist and fascist parties.

With a Clinton operative working his opposition I am not surprised.

Arabs organize politically, and it’s a given that they don’t favor the right wing. This was a political statement.

Obama’s anti-Israel boys gonna be voting early and voting often. Barry’s pro-terrorist/anti-Jew election fixers want Netanyahu gone. I ashamed that some of my tax dollars were used for this anti-Jew bull****.

If Israel claims to be a multi-ethnic pluralistic country and not a pariah state like apartheid South Africa a major political figure should not make a statement like that.

Allowing Arabs to live in Israel was a fatal error.

Muslims and Jews can not love together.

Israel may have destroyed its self by denying what Islam is, and what Muslims do.

I’m sorry to tell you, but look what’s in the White House because “blacks came out in droves” with a racist vote.

A technical view of Israel elections would find greater Arab participation beneficial to Israel’s Right. That might indeed make Bibi unhappy.

The Arabs are anti-Zionist and hostile to the existence of the state.

Yet they have the democratic right to run against it.

Left-wing organizations are bussing them out

Sounds just like here. How many dead voters will they see? Hanging chads?

Do you smell the ‘motor voter’ technique here?

I wonder how much of this is from resources/techniques the “O” creeps took to Israel.

Israel is the Jewish state (the only one). Allowing Arabs doesn’t necessarily mean you are allowing Muslims to take over. The secularists will be just as damaging as the Muslims when it comes to voting. (Muslims are obviously worse for promoting terrorism).

Once the Left wing takes over, to continue the Obama strategy, they would allow the Palestinians the right to return so that they would get a “permanent voting majority”. Of course, they would also lose the country in the process, but Obama has proved that’s a price he’s willing to take in the US. So why not in Israel?

I like Bibi but that statement is ugly.

Its the ugly truth.

And the truth is always good. Lay it out there and let the chips fall where they may.

Only 39% of Jewish voters in Israel would have to vote for a left-wing candidate to win if the vast majority of Arab-Israelis vote left-wing, and that is assuming proportional voter turnout.

Israel may be striving to be a pluralistic society, but ultimate that 20% Arab population will be 30% then 40% then 50%... it is a time bomb inside Israel waiting to go off.

It may be an ugly thing to say, but sometimes the truth is an ugly thing.
