During the blitz Churchill recognized that Germany would overwhelm the RAF and destroy it if something wasn’t done.
He sent the bombers to Berlin.
Hitler made the mistake of retaliating instead of focusing on military targets

The Germans gave him a good excuse, though -- they dropped bombs on London, perhaps inadvertently, perhaps not (the Germans had already dropped bombs on civilian targets in the Spanish Civil War).
Hitler's reaction may well have been from angry pride - the Germans had claimed there would never be British bombers over Berlin, and the raid made the visiting Soviet 'Sec. of State' seek shelter.

That’s right. Goering should have gone after English radar stations but instead Hitler concentrated on `vengeance weapons’.
When the container nukes containing Iranian bombs go off on major mainland American cities, Barry will explain that he just read about it in the Washington Post.
Next stop then for the Obamas? Radiation-free Hawaii for a little golf and sun. Separate planes, of course.
