Chasm Grows Within G.O.P. Over Spending (The return of borrow and spend?)

WASHINGTON — The congressional push this week to secure the first Republican budget plan in nearly a decade is revealing a chasm between fiscal hawks determined to maintain strict spending caps and defense hawks who are threatening to derail any budget that does not ensure an increase for the military.

“This is a war within the Republican Party,” said Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican of South Carolina, who has vowed to oppose a final budget that does not ensure more military spending. “You can shade it any way you want, but this is war.”

The divisions will be laid bare Tuesday when congressional leaders unveil blueprints that hew to spending limits imposed by the budget battles of 2011.

Regardless of party, a ‘balanced budget’, in D.C., simply entails taxing the stuffing out of as many Citizens and biz until the red ink disappears.

The Constitutional limits have not been adhered for over 100 years; the ‘general Welfare’ CLAUSE over-taking the whole (only govt/lawyers and Socialists, but I repeat myself, can twist logic like that)

If not for a fiat currency (again, ILLEGAL), the point would be moot.

Even Nelson Rockefeller tried to avoid being called a stealth Democrat, which he really was.

He didn't try very hard. In the 1964 convention, he called nominee Barry Goldwater's delegates "fascists" and "Nazis", and he waited until he was on prime time television to do it.

At another convention, he gave conservative delegates Cicero's Unseemly Gesture.

Real charmer, taught America the political meaning of "f.u. money".

Just another hateful liberal.

Restoring it to 90% and keeping it there would solve the SS running out of money issue.

Nice to have a Democrat on the board, thanks for dropping by. I'd say "liberal Democrat" but that'd be redundant.

Why not raise the Social Security tax rate to 140% of gross wages? That would stop the rot!

Stop everything else, too.

You’re right, it just that it was so long ago I forgot how treacherous Rockefeller was. At least he didn’t wink and nod like Boehner and the two McC’s.

Its funny how the rule is generally if Senator Lindsey Graham, DEMOCRAT of South Carolina is for something I am generally inclined to be against it if for no other reason than knowing the backstabbing Dick Graham for who he is.
Just about everything Gram does is to help the democrats, and the only area he is even remotely conservative is on defense even there his priorities are generally a bit screwed up.

He thinks the American Tax payer should pay to police the world, that is unfair and un-affordable. We can’t even afford the ever more bloated and repressive Federal Government we have domestically.

Until Washington Starts observing the Federal Constitution and reverses its ever more progressive domestic tyranny, I don’t see how it can be worth honestly defending this government. Need I remind you this is the same Government which has already abandoned our borders leading to cultural and demographic invasion & replacement.
This at the end of a 40 year campaign to exterminate and discourage our future by way of Abortion and Anti-family(marriage) policies that have naturally resulted in a culture of death that has already degraded us to sub-replacement birth rates for our native population.

The point is America as a population & culture is already dying under our existing lawless masters in Washington D.C.
Unless something drastically changes America doesn’t have a future. So what are we spending money we don’t have to defend? What foreign enemy are we keeping from our soil to protect our dwindling jobs & posterity from? It certainly isn’t the million who now walk across our borders and insist we learn their language & fly their flag in our own country.

Nor is it the basic freedom to govern our own lives and live by the Consequences & merit of our own choices that Washington now levys war on by way of everything from Obamacare to the abusive Tax-code.

So what are we fighting to defend Graham? Why shouldn’t we yearn for a day when Washington Collapse and we should be free again to rediscover our families and individual freedom on our own again?

Why should we fear a foreign enemy taking from us what Washington is or has already taken?

Hand picked Federal Employees in black robes nullified our Constitution in any meaningful limits upon Washington. As a result our Federal Constitutional republic is gone. The Government that now levy’s unrestricted war upon our rights is as dangerous, and probably even more aggressive(given it’s busybody domestic inclinations) than any foreign enemy.

What sound minded American patriot should wish to preserve that?

You seem to forget who our president was in 1983 when the 90% wage cap was agreed to bipartisan. Are you saying Reagan was a Rhino, or stupid, or senile?? Also, the tax rate is not the same thing as the wage cap.

For a long time I found myself again and again wondering when the idiots John and Mich are finally going to realize they control and run nothing without the threat of shut down.

Regretfully I’m starting to wonder if you may be right in that they don’t care, and have simply choose to deliberately set themselves up for failure in an idiotically obvious way.

That of course bring us back to the original point in that we are not dealing with the most well informed and politically savvy men, but rather a bunch of highly manipulated and corrupt morons, who are in some respects actually alienating themselves as fighting against their own base. As if they can’t figure out if they are on the Democrat’s team or our team.
