FERGUSON, MO (KTVI)- St. Louis County Police have confirmed to FOX 2 that the suspected shooter of two police officers early Thursday morning outside of the Ferguson police department is in custody.
The two officers were shot just after midnight, as many protestors were headed home following a night of protests after the resignation of the city’s police chief.
One of the wounded officers is from Webster Groves Police and was shot in the cheek, just under his right eye. The other wounded officer is with the St. Louis County Police and was hit in the shoulder and the bullet came out the middle of his back. Both men were treated and released.
This is a developing story.

Well, by golly, I actually found something under a section of the criminal code for inchoate offenses. It covers an attempt to commit murder, but it’s not called Attempted Murder. Under 564.011, an attempt to commit a class A felony is a class B felony.
A DA, given the evidence, would most likely file the more serious class A assault charge, instead of the less serious attempt to commit a felony charge.
Instead of just reporting the facts, in this case the cops announced, "He said didn't intend to shoot police officers". The cops planted the seed, laid the foundation for his defense.

You know in my opinion there are a couple of types that will defend this culture that they come from, leftist white liberals, naive, stupid Black Americans, and folks that come from these places and do not want to totally demonize them for they themselves grew up there and have some kind of misplaced loyalty, these groups are why major critiques of the ghetto culture are rebuffed when there needs to be criticism.
At some point and I have said it before, they need to look at the writing on the wall, pull their heads out of the @$$, and do something to help themselves which includes calling out the thug/ghetto culture for no one with a brain can defend it, they need to take the example of the President of Egypt who at least had the balls to say that there is a problem with islam and it needs reform, I do not see an issue with saying that there is a problem, anyone.
Just my two cents.
First degree assault carries the heavier penalty.

Ya ever see a news conference where the arresting agency publicly broadcasted what the suspects defense was?
Instead of just reporting the facts in the news conference, they publicly provided what the suspect defense was going to be.
Outrageous.
Don’t know about Missouri, but in CA, there are massive penalty enhancements for attempting to kill a cop.
I am wondering if during the interrogations they let him off the hook by saying, “Was there any reason for doing this, and was it possible the police were not your intended target? If so, and you cooperate and admit you’re the shooter, this might go much easier on you”
