Yeah, $8 a gallon - but you also get a free 3-pc. set of glassware with every fill up!

Regards,

Well, yeah, but there’s charging what the market will bear, and then there’s charging so much that anyone who isn’t running on fumes in front of the place will say “Nah, I’m good.”

I’m surprised they didn’t just go 8.079 and 8.179 on plus and premium.

No signs, nothing designed to draw people in. Looks like a “club” to me.

Good theory. Might even be a gas club for the super rich, who don't actually pay the $8, but want to fill up locally without rubbing elbows with the masses.

Must be one of those "Full Service" service stations.

Excellent point. Considering how onerous California’s Environmental Laws are, he probably doesn’t want to spend the money to take the tanks out. Actually, not a bad way to deal with California Government, until the government realizes what he is doing and tax the crap out of him..I am sure that they don’t want anyone to sell gasoline, but they can’t wean themselves from the tax revenues.

That station is to gas what Starbucks is to coffee.
Hey, it works for Starbucks.

Who says he’s actually SELLING or trying to sell the gas for that price? What does the prices on the pumps say?

“Why Is This Marin Gas Station Charging Drivers Nearly $8 a Gallon?”................

Like the answer I got when I asked a clerk in one of the stations around here with excessively high fuel prices, the answer was “Because We Can”!

If anyone is stupid enough to pay those prices, they should shut up, carry extra fuel or go to a station with a more reasonable price. Gasoline prices are high enough without getting screwed a second time.

Where's this place again?.....I've been wanting to complete my set for a very long time.....

I think this owner misplaced all his *2* numbers for the signage.

Return a rental without filling it up and see how much gas costs

I’m surprised some idiot politician hasn’t investigated him for “price gouging”.

occasionally, there is a gas station owner that would prefer to just do mechanical repair work...and not bother with the gas pumps.

(sometimes his business permit says it is for a gasoline station so he doesn’t remove the pumps, and sometimes he doesn’t remove the pumps because that might raise the issue of having to remove the underground tanks and California

state government has been (protecting the BIG OIL companies mostly by) requiring this be done (mostly at smaller off brand stations)... and they can’t usually afford it (what with all the additional extra environmental testing and reporting California requires)

so anyway, there can be reasons for a gas station, particularly in California and especially an offbrand outlet) to do this. The profit on the shop end can be higher than out at the pumps anyway.

Nah, he probably stands in the middle of the road with a gun and forces drivers into his gas station to buy his over-priced gas!

I wonder if that’s an EPA ruling. I noticed the same thing happening here in Wisconsin leading to small convenience two pump family businesses closing up .

Yes it is an EPA ruling.

Once that got passed, only the majors could afford to sell gas, and the mom and pop stores are gone.

EPA is 99% of the reason gas isn’t under $2 everywhere.

We left for Frisco in your Rambler
The fuel tank is running dry
I've never been much of a gambler
And had a preference to fly

You said, "Forget about the airline
Let's take the car and save the fare"
Our tank read empty on the Grapevine
Eight bucks a gallon for gasoline

All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard

Hot summer night in Sausalito
Not enough gas for another mile
Let's drop a quarter in the meter
And hit the sidewalk for a while

I'll have a burger and a root beer
You find some way to get us aid
A quart of unleaded is what we need, dear
To get across the Golden Gate

All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard

Another mile to Frisco
Half a gallon in the tank
The engine's stomping like a disco
We oughta dump her in the bay

All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard

Cashin' all my checks
Scrapin' out my bank
Need another gallon
to put inside my tank

$7.97 over here
$8.50 over there
Can't afford a fill-up
'Cause we haven't got cash to spare

All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard
(Sausalito summernight)
All aboard

Hot summer night in Sausalito
Hot summer night in Sausalito
Hot summer night in Sausalito
