FERGUSON, Mo. --

Two officers were shot in front of the Ferguson Police Department early Thursday, authorities said, as demonstrators gathered after the city's police chief resigned in the wake of a scathing Justice Department report alleging bias in the police department and court.

A 32-year-old officer from nearby Webster Groves was shot in the face and a 41-year-old officer from St. Louis County was shot in the shoulder, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference. Both were taken to a hospital, where Belmar said they were conscious. He said he did not have further details about their conditions but described their injuries as "serious."

I saw a post on a forum from some dude who claimed he lived in a mostly black ghetto a while back who said that the reason the smart, hard working folks leave those places and never look back is because they can’t live around a bunch of people that cannot get their heads out of their asses and cannot stop blaming others, plus the stupid violence. He went on to say he owed nothing to that community, and would rather stay in the mostly non-black neighborhood he lives in currently, than go back to what he called a hellhole, as harsh as the way he said it, he had a point there.

If I was an officer in the area, I would stop going to work, let the aholes police themselves they’ve earned it. There have to be better communities throughout the country for a good police officer to work safely and raise a family.
