“But nobody owns them.”
__________-
It means that fewer people own guns, but the ones who do own more than one.
Actually, it only means that is what people told a particular survey.
No, it means that the number of respondents to anonymous phone surveys asking about one’s guns has reached an historic low.
It means there are more & more gun owners who know that most surveys originate from gungrabbing organizations.
By the way, the NRA doesn’t ask who own guns.
Now....the government knows how many citizens own those guns that are documented on BATFE Form 4473. But wait a second, there’s no requirement to report the sale of a gun by its private owner. “Universal background checks” are supposed to change all that.
And there are all those “unpapered” guns out there, the result of private sales paid in cash.
This is why Diane Feinstein says she wants to eliminate “anonymous gun ownership” and that the government has a right to know who owns what. For the children, of course.
Anyway, this mantra of “more guns in fewer hands” is intended to embolden legislators into voting for confiscatory gun control, on the premise that “there aren’t enough gun nuts out there” to diselect them if they do.
