I was thinking of running for President. My platform would be to limit all interest paid on all debt to no more than 10%.

I think that would have broad appeal. Of course some credit card company would probably have me gunned down in the streets. :O

There was a time when interest over 8% in Ohio was defined as usury. But the dollar cheapening policies of the Fed & the deficits from the New Frontier & Great Society era, forced the abandonment of that standard.

The problem is what is reasonable to address the reality of having the lender paid back in cheaper money--an unfortunate effect of the influences of quacks like John Maynard Keynes, and the unwillingness of politicians to restrain their inclinations to buy votes with programs that make no sense for any other purpose.
