‘I think the country is broken, and I don’t mean just the governance of it. It is the very people themselves who are sick and disoriented.’
Agreed.
What do we gain when we win? Some temporary respite from the Communitarian agenda? We see the damage and HAVE to rebuild because that’s who WE are, only to watch ‘Progressives’ destroy (rinse and repeat).

I think you are trying to put new windows and siding in a house with a bad foundation.

The Country is moving away from the Judeo-Christian based moral foundation, and you can spiff up the old place with paint all you want, but the structural supports are crumbling.

Even if we get the government under control (no easy task that) then we still have to deal with the societal rot that allowed such a government to get so far out of control.

As George Will noted, the problem in this country is not Obama, it's that we have an electorate so foolish that it would elect a fool such as Obama.

Repair starts with the sources of information streaming into our consciousnesses. If we don't castrate the Liberal Media and Entertainment industries, we aren't going to solve anything. They are the ones who have been misleading the people and getting Democrats elected.

This is what i'm thinking. We gain a temporary respite. (Remember Reagan?) We only halt the movement towards socialism for a little while, and the very next time Democrats get back into power, they resume their successes at advancing us towards the left.

Our problems are systemic. They are the result of perverse incentives, and deviations from the Original founder's plan. Lyndon Johnson figured out he could bribe a big chunk of the electorate with government supplied money, and as a result the Democrats have been in power ever since, and even when they were not, their ideas/ideology still continue to apply serious pressure to move the nation left.

well then I suggest you move to, where? What are the alternatives.

We have started a new media situation with talk radio and the internet. We can do more through our own media operations when possible.

The point is to quit is to die without a fight.

I believe you are correct, it is a foundational, systemic problem. And the fault lies with ‘we the people.’ Yes we have a corrupt, agenda-driven media that serves as a mouth piece of the corporate-governmental complex; but it is only successful because vast numbers of Americans are ignorant/apathetic, or are in agreement. I'm afraid that the harsh truth is that if people haven't awaken by now, then they never will. The apathetic will continue to sleep walk regardless of what happens, and the true believers will continue to feel emboldened. Does Obama act like he has the slightest fear of anyone trying to stop him? We have to identify and recognize the truth of exactly where our country is; I don't see this as surrender or defeatism..it is a necessary first step before we can seriously contemplate how to get our Republic back.

There are none. There is no place that is not even further along the road to serfdom.

We have started a new media situation with talk radio and the internet. We can do more through our own media operations when possible.

Which just shows how weak we are. If we had any real strength, we would have already bought out a network and put a stop to this biased nonsense they keep promulgating.

All of the "air" force is in the hands of enemy Lieberals. All of it. Yes, the internet is starting to get more important and competitive, but the vast bulk of things the regular populace actually watches are firmly entrenched in Lieberal hands.

The point is to quit is to die without a fight.

Nobody said anything about quitting, just wanting people to face the real possibility that we aren't going to win. We have to fight till it's over or until we are.

I see the lynchpin of our problems being the Media/entertainment industries. No one sees anything that doesn't first go through a Liberal filter.

Secondary problems are Unionized government employees who work as a block against us, and provide a bottom level of support for big government policies.

Thirdly are government money driven Academia with it's cohort of left wing kooks who live mostly off taxpayer dollars.

Media. Government Unions, and Education/Academia. These are the components that form the strength of our opposition. Walker is at least making progress against the latter two. I hope he can eventually make progress against the first.

We all need to be working to destroy all three, with the media being the most in need of replacement.

The Gordian knot must be cut. That means banning all pot.

Just kidding (did I see you drool)

This means each person putting personal faith back in the Lord God Almighty. The media hasn’t yet jumped into the churches with a CBS God, an NBC God, etc, nor can they.

Both the Bushes have simply moved towards the enemy's goal posts instead of running in the opposite direction. The trend is toward more government, more spying, more control, and more dominance of everyone by the ruling class.

George W. Bush's worst betrayal was lying to us about Islam, and letting radical Muslim criminal regimes off the hook completely.

Probably won’t be popular here but worth reading. Of note: “There isn’t going to be a third party. The GOP has an infrastructure that is powerful, that is effective, and that we need to take over to use to promote conservatism. We can’t build a third party from scratch without giving the liberals the country for a couple decades, at the end of which our third party is likely to be outlawed anyway.”

There are several things that need to be done by conservatves inside the GOP to take back the party from the big government types.

One of the overlooked one is that we need to force a lot of the RINOs to become democrats, since their policies are not that diofferent we shoudl appeal to their egos and try to convince them to become Democrats.

From a “size of government” perspective, there is no contrast between the parties.

[ I think the country is a lost cause. I think we are following Rome to the ash heap of history.

We should not be having these debates within our own party. The fact that we are indicates we have a systemic problem. The political forces and foundational assumptions move ever leftward regardless of which party is running things.

Both the Bushes have simply moved towards the enemy’s goal posts instead of running in the opposite direction. The trend is toward more government, more spying, more control, and more dominance of everyone by the ruling class.

One of my dreams involves all of the conservatives “going on strike” and basically handing everything over to the democrats in exchange to letting texas become it’s own country and moveing all the conservatives to texas. And then popping up some popcorn as the coasts implode.

Bush seemed to hope that given “democracy,” Islamic peoples would be open to his moral suggestion as to how they ought to carry out their faith.

In the meantime the Mullahs were snickering under their breath at GW, “Yeah, you Christian dirty dog you. You and what army?”

Good analysis. I might differ on the order but we need to fight all three players of the Left’s hegemony over our popular culture.

There is hope. Look at the response to the American Sniper and Unbroken movies. There is a deep unfilled need for America and American heroes to be portrayed in a positive light.

The U.S. has periodically undergone religious revivals.
Louis Zamperini, whose story was told in Unbroken, turned his life around at a sermon by Rev. Billy Graham. As mentioned here, the Christians were able to succeed despite persecution.

There are many wasy we can turn this country and the GOP around.

2. On a related note, too many have a very narrow definition of what a Conservative is. Generally speaking (for them) its someone who agrees with them all the time, anyone else is an (evil, traitorous) RINO.

Bingo. The good is the enemy of the perfect. Some are damn nasty about it. You know, winning hearts and minds.

During the last election I was urging everyone in Mississippi and Kentucky to vote for the Democrat because the only thing worse than a Democrat is a back stabbing Republican establishment type.

Had we handed them their heads in Mississippi and Kentucky, we might have gotten some strange new respect from the larger Party. As it is, we've convinced them that we can be safely ignored if they pump enough money into their campaigns. We've also convinced them they can get away with racist attacks against us.

“Boehner is up for election again in 18 months, he barely got out of the last primary. Let’s find someone who can beat him this time and get him the $ he needs to do it...”

Boehner, and several of the worst RINOs, will not lose a primary.
They will lose a general election if a conservatives candidate is in it.
And there’ll still be a Republican majority in the House.

Strategy: without it no one ever won.

I know you are kidding but this is not right. First, there are hundreds of millions of good people in Blue states. My home state of California is an example. I did not check the numbers but usually GOP candidates for state wide office here receive more votes than any other GOP candidates in the country including Texas.

Second, Texas is not safe. Yes, so far conservatives win there but the Left will not give up. The RATS are using the illegal alien invasion to directly target your state.

You know the saying: All evil needs to succeed is that good people do nothing.
