The one I suffer from gets nothing but disgust from many people, I’ve lost a considerable amount of my hearing. If a person is asked to repeat themselves or speak a little louder it ticks them off. Most just say get a hearing aid without even realizing there are different variations of loss and hearing aids don’t solve some. One of the reasons I love computers and forums, I can hear y’all just fine.

Hearing loss is the ultimate “invisible disability”.

I agree with y’all about the invisible disabilities...

Regarding being hearing impaired:
People just don’t get it, they don’t understand that they have to
turn towards the person so their lips can be read
enunciate their words
speak slower
use captions on presentations
use email more than phone

I’ve been severely hearing impaired all my life and the dr says its only going to get worse...

I have used Closed Captions for several years am practically deaf in one ear today. Rush brings this up often saying people really do not want to repeat themselves and it irritates them when they are asked. I use headphones to listen to Rush, it helps.
