It was Bison that were shot on the Great Plains, not Buffalo.
They can’t even get that right!
They’re not the “idiots” - this is about football teams. The NY team with the bison on their helmets is not called the Bisons.

Strangely enough, the Fighting Sioux (Grand Forks) had to drop their name, but the Bison (Fargo) didn’t.
And.... Buffalo was named for the river...the beautiful river. “Buffalo” sounds like the french words for beautiful river.
