Lack named NBC News Group chairman

By DYLAN BYERS | 3/6/15 11:19 AM EST
NBCUniversal announced Friday that it has hired Andrew Lack to serve as chairman of the NBC News Group, confirming earlier reports that the former NBC News president was set to return to the network.

“Andy’s experience and familiarity with our company and specifically the news division will be critical to our growth and future success,” CEO Steve Burke wrote in a memo to staff.

Lack will replace current chairman Pat Fili-Krushel, who will move to “a new corporate role” on Burke’s executive team. Fili-Krushel was made chairman of the NBC News Group in 2012, overseeing NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC.

Lack, who was president of NBC News from 1993 to 2001 and created MSNBC in 1996, will only oversee those channels. CNBC President Mark Hoffman will report directly to Burke.

Oh, please...not that old baggage.

Surely they have someone smarter, prettier, and more intelligent.

With long, beautiful legs. Oh, wait—that’s FOXnews.

In the entire population of the US and Canada, about 350 million souls, there are apparently about five people who are capable of functioning as the teleprompter reader on a major network nightly news broadcast.

It doesn’t matter how many times these five people screw up. It doesn’t matter how many viewers tune them out.
