A judge declared a mistrial Thursday in the Jodi Arias sentencing case after a jury deadlocked on whether the convicted murderer should be executed or sent to prison for life for killing her lover in 2008.

The decision removes the death penalty as an option and leaves the judge to sentence Arias to either life in prison or a life term with the possibility of release after 25 years.

What a complete waste of money. After the first mistrial they should have just sentenced her to life without parole; which is what the Judge will do now. The County has spent Millions of dollars trying the death penalty phase of this case.
I could have told them after the trial where she was found guilty, there is no way a jury is going to sentence her to death.

Un-friggin-believable.

If this was a man that stabbed his girlfriend 30 times, nearly decapitated her and then shot her in the head AND left her in her shower, we would already have had his executed body in a pauper’s grave in Arizona

some wanted to fry her!

I could not be on that jury- she is just too darned cute.

And the guy she killed was a “rising star” in MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING...That alone should get her off for time served

While the death penalty might have been appropriate, she would have spent 20 years appealing. Just give her life without parole and be done with it. Big waste of taxpayers money going for the death penalty a second time. The DA should resign. Jodi Arias is bat sh*t crazy and being locked up for life is probably the best alternative.

You forgot the sarcasm tag. If anyone deserved the death penalty Jodi Arias does.

For the last few nights there were at least 7 news trucks parked around the 4th Ave and Jackson jail most likely awaiting the trial outcome.

Someone was really crying during the hearing but I don’t know who. Maybe the victim’s sister.

Life without possibility of parole, no prison interviews and daily visits by the prison bull dyke club would be a far worse punishment for Arais than a death sentence.

So are you saying that the murder she committed was equal to the Boston Marathon bombings, the Ft. Hood shootings, the rapes and demurrers of young children, etc? I think her case was defended horribly, as it was clear she was in a state of insanity, probably from the moment he broke up with her. The events leading up to the murder, how he used her, cheated in her, talked down to her, made jokes about her, then the manner of how she murdered him was pure evidence of her uncontrollable rage, thus a crime of passion. It should have never been a death penalty case, would have saved a lot of time and money.

I don’t know if a newbie is one who signed up in 2007.

You signed up in 1999, so does that make you an oldie?

/sarc

OK, you are pro-Cruz, it had to be sarc. I voted for him too.
