“Well someone pissed in your Rush cornflakes, and I can’t remove the stench. Be bitter. Think you know what’s relevant and the right way to carry out a career or save the Republic. You’re only making yourself miserable.”

Wha?

I started listening to Limbaugh when I was a Jr. High student back in 1991. I read both of his books before I finished 9th grade. And I listened to as much of his show that I could record daily on a 90min cassette as a high school student, and then listened as an adult daily up until 2007.

So no, I’m not some Rush basher. The show just stopped defining the debate as much as it had when I was a kid because people were shifting to new outlets. AM radio does not have the draw that it once did and that is why the left is dominating the debate while people are still turning to an AM radio show that is diminishing in its influence every year.

Not that Rush isnt a player, he just isnt the single big player anymore. That’s just fact.

If you have time to sit by a radio for 2.5 hours + radio ads and biased radio news at the bottom of the hour, then you are part of a rapidly diminishing group.

First, Rush is on far more FM stations now than AM. Perhaps you haven't listened in a long time. Second, there are more players now, MANY of whom Rush helped launch. Some of their influence accrues to him. Levin and Hannity included. He's helped elevate Steyn too, and helped many internet sites. Third, the 2.5 hours a day thing is fatuous. That's only a tiny percentage of any talk show audience.
