My 13 year old son was animatedly telling me yesterday how much he hates pigs. Why? Because he’s reading Animal Farm. He was able to draw parallels between that book and what he knows is going on today in our world. Daughter is in Toastmasters and today is giving a speech about the differences between extroverts and introverts. She herself is an introvert but now feels comfortable speaking in public thanks to this group.

I’ve never regretted for one moment that we chose to homeschool our kids from the beginning, but I fear that my children won’t be given that opportunity. Too many dark clouds of fascism and communism on our horizon with a government intent on having total control of each and every individual from cradle to grave. Homeschoolers are far too independent minded for their liking.

Don’t lose hope. Here in my state we worked to elect a legislator who understands his obligations, and we managed to push government control over homeschoolers back. As it stands now, we have no obligations at all to report to the state. Thank God. I love liberty.
