All the grace of God, not us. He gets the credit.

We failed as parents in so many ways. The kids aren’t perfect, and several had to go their own way for a few years to later come full circle. Told my wife that with 8 kids, some were bound to have to be rebels. Actually 3 were.

One son and one daughter let me have it verbally when they were 16, and I thought they were goners - tats & drinking - but they grew up and have come full circle, love the Lord. We are very thankful for each of them.

3 hated being home-schooled - but all now as adults are incredibly thankful and grateful and planning the same. The 3 are very glad they couldn’t leave their HS setting when they had poor judgment and were immature.

Again - it’s all the grace of God. No parent can do “everything right” and it’s foolish to think you can. You need to be on your knees crying out to God for Him to catch their hearts - in spite of all your failures as a parent. It is His mercy and grace.

I am good friends with the pastor of a great SBC church in the area. About 10 years ago, a famous SBC pastor spoke there, and said publicly, “Our son has left the Lord and gone into the world and sin. We cannot understand why, because we did everything right in raising him.” I could not believe any man could say this, let alone think it. Jesus told us we must say, “I am an unprofitable servant, an unworthy slave...” in Luke 17:10. What man or woman can stand before God and say, “I have done all I was commanded...”??????

It is God’s mercy, and grace.
