Ben Carson: You know what, I’m done talking about gay rights from now on
Hotair ^ | 03/04/2015 | AllahPundit

After 500 comments about his prison-sex theory of orientation, I figured you’d be interested in an update. Having taken a ferocious beating in the media for the better part of a day, Carson finally says no mas:

“I also believe that our Constitution protects everybody, regardless of their beliefs, and that includes people who are gay,” Mr. Carson continued. “I have no problem with them doing whatever they want to do. I’m just not willing to change the definition of marriage for anybody, because once you do that, you have to change it for everyone else who comes along. Why would we want to do that? We have something that’s worked for thousands of years to create a nurturing environment for raising children. And I think that’s where we ought to leave it.”

He added: “I simply have decided I’m not going to really talk about that issue anymore, because every time I gain momentum, the liberal press says, ‘let’s talk about gay rights.’ I’m just not going to fall for that anymore.”

Okay, but that’s like Jeb Bush deciding he’s not going to talk about amnesty anymore. It’s one of his pet issues. He’s beloved by his supporters because of his opinion on that particular topic. Ben Carson muting his social conservatism on the most hot-button social issue of the day makes him Mike Huckabee minus the boldness (and executive experience), a major flaw for a guy running as an “outsider.” If you like Carson, chances are you like him precisely because he’s not a politician and therefore more likely to speak candidly about his opinions when asked. He’s the one you turn to for Common Sense that cuts through political niceties. What’s the point of passing on Ted Cruz or Huckabee and rolling the dice on Carson if his attitude towards plainspoken debate with the media on gay marriage going forward is “yeah, pass”?

Say this for him, though: He’s going to end up making a lot of consultants very, very rich. Not Bush-level rich, but still. Click the image to listen.

Another sissified PC wimp. I’m willing to bet that he had more support than hate. Will not one person roll over, thus becoming irrelevant?

Im not sure you can call an entire population of blackmailed(thou threat by LGB community) and indoctrinated(thou public school forums) a rebellious people.

There is nothing rebellious about submiting to social, economic, and political blackmail and not thinking for yourself at all.

When one puts oneself in the situation where one knows one will face such, then surrendering and fleeing bespeaks character flaws.

"“I also believe that our Constitution protects everybody, regardless of their beliefs, and that includes people who are gay,” Mr. Carson continued."

Contrary to what Mr. Carson thinks about the Constitution and so-called gay “rights,” the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly protect gay “rights,” including gay marriage. So if Mr. Carson wants PC gay “rights” to be protected by the Constitution then he must do the following.

Mr. Carson must work with state and federal lawmakers to propose a gay rights amendment to the Constitution to the states. And if the states choose to ratify Mr. Carson’s amendment then the feds will have the constitutional authority that they need to protect gay marriage and Mr. Carson will be a hero.

Simple answer. It’s a states issue.

If the media presses, accuse them of not understanding the Constitution then call them a moron.... and leave.

I don't agree. It's not regular questions a normal interviewer would ask. It's OMG, don't you love gays? Why don't you love gays? Are you homophobic, would you deny gays equal rights? yada yada yada

I'm with Ben, move on.

Who “advises” these candidates anyway?

STOP letting the Dems/pals in MSM et al define the issues.

If they can’t ask relevant, intelligent questions about the most pressing issues of the day, then call THEM OUT

“God does call them rebellious.”

On that fact we quite agree, This however is a kind of rebellion that is self-terminating on a civilization scale it will cripple the Demographic growth potential of any culture that embarrasses it leaving them to be overcome and eventually replaced by those that still focus on family & reproduction.

The real question for the rest of us is how do we disconnect ourselves from this fatil error before it takes us and our children down with us?

I believe the answer to that question lies in balckinzation and education. I even go so far as to make fun of the morons that embrace a culture of sodomy.

Kenny , I am with you. What did he say, “I also believe that our Constitution protects everybody, regardless of their beliefs, and that includes people who are gay,”

I stand with Carson as well as with Walker.

You really think that someone like Carson, who stood up for certain issues (which is all the lib media cares about), would be subject to softball questions?

There’s a difference between moving on and fleeing. It’s the libs that don’t know that difference. The secret to beating the libs is being more relentless than they.

How about stuff like “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people; it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”? Is Carson standing with John Adams?

Carson and Walker might be our only hope. I love Cruz but after Senator Obama I think the people might be a little gun shy.

I don’t know. I hope our people are moral and have faith even if it is of the atheist faith who believe in good morals and kindness. Therefore, I think our constitution was made up of moral and faithful people.
