He accused Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, of seeking to destroy Nato, and warned that Russia could seek to use the sort of hybrid warfare seen in eastern Ukraine against a Nato member to test the alliance. I am sure Putin wants to destroy our alliance, not by attacking it but by splintering it, he said in a speech to military and political leaders in Berlin. He warned that Mr Putin could try to destabilise a Nato member by using a rebel militia as in eastern Ukraine, or other forms of ambiguous warfare. In the absence of an overt Russian attack, some Nato members could be reluctant to invoke Article 5 of the Washington treaty, under which an attack on one member is an attack on all. Once Article 5 is gone, our alliance is over, Gen Hodges said... We have to raise the cost for Putin. Right now he has 85 per cent domestic support. But when mothers start seeing their sons come home dead, when the price goes up, domestic support goes down. A planned American mission to train Ukrainian troops has been put on hold to give the current peace process a chance to succeed.
Gen Hodges accused Russia of having 12,000 troops inside eastern Ukraine.
If you dont believe Russia is directly involved in Ukraine now, youll never believe it. You dont want to believe it, he said...

And Putin will destroy NATO. The entire NATO was being held together by our Country and with this communists black Muslim insane child he will destroy anything that kept the world together. This child King is insane.
Didn’t Obama tell Putin that he would have more flexibility once he was re-elected.
I guess we found out what that meant.
So, Russia is doing to Ukraine what we are doing to Islamic countries in the Middle East and North Africa. Splintering them and giving the spoils to Al Qeada and ISIS. In fact what we are doing is far worse than what Russia is doing
So the US is taking over other countries land and making it part of Newamerica like the russians are with Novorossiya? News to me.
You are f-ing whack.
But Gen Hodges said he was sure the UK would continue to meet the 2 per cent target.
The UK is one of only four Nato members that currently meets its 2 per cent target, he said. There are 24 that are already below, and many of them are well below. He described German military equipment shortages as unacceptable.
Putin must be shaking in his boots.
At last, Obama and Putin find common ground.
Nope, just posting facts. Obama is destroying the Middle East and North Africa, making them vacuums for ISIS and Al Qeada. I mean, after all he funding terrorists to take over Libya, is funding terrorists to take over Syria. Obama runs the largest terrorist organization in the world today

Two-and-a-half millennia ago, the Chinese sage Sun Tzu counseled that the best military policy is to attack strategies; the next to attack alliances; the next to attack soldiers, and Putin is doing exactly this. He has no need to undermine NATO strategy, since none exists in reality, while he continues to hack away at the foundations of the Western Alliance through Special War, particularly espionage and subversion.
And Obama is doing his part on his end.....it began with nixing the defense missles for Poland.
Putin and Obama are fellow travelers on the same road.
Why would Putin waste time, energy and rubles to destroy the worthless NATO?
Obama is the arsonist of North Africa and the Middle East, sowing chaos by torching every stable government in the Muslim world. In their places, savage tribal wars are erasing national borders and ushering a new Caliphate. Libya is gone, Egypt was toppled but fortunately rescued by its army, and Iraq and Syria are being melted away. It looks like Turkey is next, as there are other plans for its eastern territories. Strangely, all of this chaos has a designed benefit for the West, clearing the way for a southern pipeline for Caspian oil to reach Iskenderun and Latakia without passing through Russia. There are much larger interests in play than first meet the eye - and with so much at stake, the future is dangerously uncertain.
Putin and Obama are still both Communists and have common ground. They’ve have had common ground all along.
Is America calling Kurds in Iraq “American separatists?”
Get the f out of here.
So you think that NATO will be destroyed within the next 22 months?
It looks to me like Putin is having the opposite effect on NATO, he is awakening and unifying it.
Putin is terrified of NATO, and knows that Russia is no match for it.
In fact, what used to be it’s equal or superior European power, was the Warsaw Pact, which has now been liberated and has become part of NATO, all together in defense from Russia, which stands alone.
Breaking the transatlantic alliance has been a Chekist wet dream since Soviet times. Since Putin lives in the 1970’s this idea should be a given. The world has moved on since then. Homo Sovieticus has not.
