I don’t think we need it. But we should not have expected the Republicrats to abolish the agency or cause a DHS shutdown because they’d “get the blame”. Apparently, “being blamed” is the worst thing that can happen to a Republicrat. I guess when Patrick Henry talked about “liberty or death”, he didn’t realize that “being blamed” was actually worse than death.

The DHS has been ordered not to enforce the laws and do not effectively protect the borders under those orders so not funding them changes nothing other than in some miniature minds the agents won’t get paid, but even the administration admits that they would get paid.
The House and Senate need to be defunded since they are not fulfilling their job to REPRESENT us, not RULE us; and they do not fulfill their oaths to support and defend the Constitution.
You wonder who we survived for 210 years without DHS.
But you see, DHS isn’t really about protecting our national security; it’s about teaching us to be good, submissive little sheep while the regime takes away our fundamental liberties.

Every state and local government needs to pass laws forbidding local law enforcement from aiding the federal fascist bureaucrats. The fascist machine will quickly grind to a halt.
The short answer is no and the long answer is no. DHS was created as a knee jerk reaction to 911. Its original mission was to be a liason between the other agencies like FBI and CIA etc. and now it has morphed into the Civilian National Defense force/SS.
DHS is a dangerous agency that needs to be shut down and a stake put through its heart.
The DHS is an impediment to defending the “Homeland”, an unnecessary layer of management and bureaucracy. President G.W. Bush initially recognized and opposed the creation of this monolith. The problem was that the CIA and FBI were unable to share information because of an artificial wall of legalese. He was poorly served by his advisers who persuaded him to create this monster rather than just removing the wall.
Where the word “Homeland” came from, I have no recollection; we always used to call it America.
