The Dodgers became my favorite team in '56 after reading about their '55 World Serious triumph--I was then 7. Amazingly, two years later they moved out here to LA! Gil Hodges and his family moved in two blocks from us in east Long Beach.

We went to many games at the Coliseum. The most jealous I've ever been in my life was when classmate Don Black got to attend the Dodgers'-Yankees' exhibition tribute game for paralyzed Roy Campanella, and I didn't.

I think I would have fit right into Brooklyn. Love them Bums, for 59 years...

I don’t have quite the same pedigree wih the Cubs, although I did attend “the Sandberg Game” on June 23, 1984, with a mixed group of Cubs and Cardinals fans. We all agree it was the greatest game we will ever attend. I kept the ticket stub and got Ryne Sandberg to autograph it a few years ago. It ‘s part of his shrine in my office, along with the car keys to my 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that was stolen from in front of my friend’s apartment while we were at Wrigley Field.
