Not true. If the feds are carrying out their legal and constitutional duties, a sheriff has no authority to stop them. However, a sheriff cannot be compelled or drafted to carry out federal edicts. The sheriff can step in, though, when federal fascists are carrying out illegal acts, including not obeying or hindering local and county laws. The Courts have recognized that both local and state governments are sovereigns.

That, and repeal the 14th Amendment (which prohibits questioning the validity of the public debt), and slamming down actual limits on the income tax [via amendment] would do wonders to change the political climate. (Here's several proposals for amendments I have.)
