This thing about robots reminds me of what we had to put up w/ a few decades ago when computers came out. Of course now we can all see the millions of jobs computers have created but a century ago the very word "computer" referred to a worker whose job it was to well, "compute".

This article is perfectly correct.

Every productive invention in the history of man has created more jobs because they have created capital and more capital leads to economic expansion and that leads to increased human input.

If human demand were to decrease (i.e. no jobs, no money, no demand), the usefulness of robots and technology itself would end.

As an aside, welders, plumbers, oil field workers are presently in great demand, but liberal arts grads are jobless.

I believe the article is correct; robots will eliminate LABOR based jobs, freeing those with the intellect and skills to pursue more productive and interesting work than many have been able to find in the past. On the flip side, those with an IQ at or below about 105-110, who have relied on skilled labor jobs in the past because they were not capable of excelling in these types of careers, will feel that robots have destroyed their lives by taking their “jobs” and become a permenant underclass.
