A homeless man was shot by Los Angeles police Sunday around 11:30 a.m. in Skid Row after officers responded to an altercation in the area.
In a video uploaded to Facebook, officers can be seen with two people. Two officers pull one person away. The other officers, who are farther from the camera, surround a man.
“Drop the gun,” officers shout several times with their own guns drawn. About five shots can be heard on the video.
Witnesses believed the man had been killed by police, but CBS reported he was taken to a hospital by paramedics. The Los Angeles Times later reported he was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after he arrived.
BuzzFeed News has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for more information.
Witness also began shouting that they did not believe the man who was shot was armed.
Information about what happened before the shooting was also not immediately available. NBC reported the officers had been responding to a robbery in the area. CBS instead reported that people were arguing inside a tent.
According to the Times, a witness said the man refused to come out of his tent on the sidewalk when officers arrived. Other witnesses told the Times the man was physically fighting with officers and may have reached for one of their guns.

I didn’t see any execution. There was quit a struggle going on and he may have grabbed at the officers weapon or he may have had a weapon, it’s hard to tell.
Take a gun away from a cop and if there are a half dozen other cops nearby, your life expectancy is going to be very short.
Should the cops have waited for the guy to shoot one of them before returning fire?
BTW you won't hear much about this one since the cop who apparently popped him was one of Obama's brothers.
If all those blacks that were complaining can do better than the officers, I would encourage them to do so.
If they cannot control their own violence, they can shut the hell up.

what a moron!!! shooting into a skinny surrounded like that it's a miracle nobody got shot by a skip after going through his skinny azz... talk about reckless endangerment, he should be arrested for felony stooopidity on those grounds alone
why is it that cops make these incidents into horrible situations?....for sleeping on a public street...sure, they're drugged, drunk, useless no account bums but really...

Police understand the power of AV recorders and yell, “STOP RESISTING...!” even if the arrestee isn’t putting up one iota of resistance.

I think, “DROP THE GUN...!” is another one of these.
I saw NO ONE pointing a gun at the cops.
Cops are thieves and based on this video they might have simply executed him.

Find another method of controlling them and let the police ...police.
Did you miss the man attacking the police? Did you know what drugs he was on? Did you see him grab for one of the officer’s guns? Please let us know exactly what you would do in that situation.

I very much agree. I am sure most of them would prefer not to be on that duty.
I see 4 officers and one homeless guy. Couple of the officers are black so surprised it’s getting ANY attention.
I’m constantly amazed though on FR people who post non-stop about the usurpation of our Constitutional rights never see the overreach by police as a threat. If those controlled by the Constitution can do no wrong, why do we need it?
You can tell there’s a guy on the ground being grabbed and punched by four police officers.
