I’m convinced the purported liberation of Mosul was pre-publicized in order to give ISIS time to harden its targets and adjust to the threat of an offensive. This makes such an offensive conveniently untenable, thus “necessitating” an indefinite delay.

Load them in a C-130 which is due to be sent to the Davis-Monthan AFB boneyard and has been converted to remote flight control (drone). Land at Mosul airport on a Friday, drop the ramp and let ‘em go. Bomb saddlebags on the hogs are optional.
