Opposition to immigration reform is a winning strategy for Republicans
Washington Post ^ | Feb, 27, 2015 | Zoltan L. Hajnal

....The answer is that Republicans’ opposition to immigration reform actually represents a winning strategy, not a losing one. Here’s why.

Republicans win or lose largely depending on white voters. Whites still make up the vast majority of voters – some 75 percent in 2014 – and whites tend to favor the Republican Party by large margins. Republican congressional candidates garnered 60 percent of the white vote in 2014. All told, 89 percent of all Republican votes in 2014 came from white voters. Put simply, the Republican Party doesn’t really need the minority vote...

First, I'd like to THANK the writer for reading my tag line - I've been using it for 2 months and he seems to be the first person with Mainstream Media access to finally get it.

Here in Texas, the Democrats thought that they had the PERFECT TICKET in 2014. They had a woman running for Governor, and a Hispanic running for Lt. Governor. Furthermore the Republicans had an EXTREMIST ticket running for Governor and Lt. Governor (and further down the ticket). The Governor candidate was Gregg Abbott, since he didn't support gay marriage, he was considered an EXTREMIST. The Lt. Governor candidate was Dan Patrick, who, even by Tea Party standards was VERY CONSERVATIVE. For example, he called the situation on our southern border an INVASION and demanded that no concessions or goodies be given to Illegals in Texas, ever. He wants them to go home, or be sent home. He never ran away from those positions even when attacked by his Hispanic opponent in the debates, and even after the Republican advisers (most of them gay, by the way) told him that he would GET CLOBBERED as Hispanics would not want anything to do with him.

The Democrats had tens of millions of dollars coming in from outside (Battleground Texas was the big national operation) - the Democrats were sure that they finally had a WINNING STRATEGY. The plan was this: The whites would split their vote the usual 55/45 Republican (maybe 60/40, at worst). The blacks, of course, would vote 90/10 Democrat, and the Hispanics would vote 75/25 Democrat. Considering that Whites are barely over 50% of the population now, at the very worst, the election would be close, even if the Republicans squeaked through.

So what happened? The blacks, of course, came through. But the whites were a different story. They voted 75/25 REPUBLICAN. They LIKED THE MESSAGE and went out and voted that way, and in BIG NUMBERS. Surprisingly (or maybe not), the HISPANICS also liked the Republican message (or at least were sickened by the Democrats, particularly on gay marriage, guns, and some other left-wing issues), and per the NBC News Exit Poll, they voted 55/45 Democrat (and those numbers include Dan Patrick). In other words, HISPANICS wound up nearly splitting their vote, and Democrats were at the losing end of a DELUGE of white voters, voting Republican, almost as a block. There simply was not enough blacks to help the Democrats.

So, for an election that the Democrats were convinced was WINNABLE, or certainly competitive, the Republicans WON BY 20 POINTS - in EVERY STATEWIDE RACE. I'll repeat that: The Republicans WON BY 20 POINTS and did not LIFT A FINGER to support liberal causes.

Take those results with white voters to Upper Midwest and Pennsylvania and the election math CHANGES RADICALLY - and 2016 becomes very winnable for our side.

But first, the Republicans in DC have to FIGURE THIS OUT and stop listening to their 5th-column 'advisers' (most of them gay, by the way) - and start listening to THEIR VOTERS.

All Christians and Jews in this nation should vote with Republicans. If Christians and Jews do not care enough about this country to defend it, then the muslims might as well have it. Time to pull our country out of the muslim caliphate.

“Republicans don’t need minority voters”

At least not until the current administration has given the illegal masses currently vacationing on our dimes the documents most citizens have. A real SS card, a real drivers license, and a paid utility bill - isn’t that about all that is required for proof of residency - citizenship can then be pretty much assumed, or a fake birth record can be purchased from Hawaii to prove it

We need to ask ourselves why our Republican politicians are supporting the Democrat agenda? Despite the accusations on this forum, they are not stupid. They know that this issue is popular with their base and beyond. They know what happened in Texas and yet they continue to support Obams, Reid, and Pelosi. Why?

The answer is money. They are benefiting financially in both their personal bank account and in their campaign coffers in exchange for support for immigration reform. They are, in other words, bought and paid for. Corruption runs rampant in Washington and it includes both parties.

My point, EXACTLY. PREVENT those masses from being legalized, and the votes will fall into place. Maybe a few Republicans in the House will read the Washington Post on this...but yea, I’m hopeful either.

“They are benefiting financially in both their personal bank account and in their campaign coffers in exchange for support for immigration reform.”

I hear you, but Republicans don’t always follow the money trail, no matter how tempting (i.e., there is no money to speak of in opposing gun control - the NRA has next to no money of their own, but they do have clout). One would think they would know that the base will be through with them if they allow this legalization and then Amnesty to take place, handing control to Pelosi. They do have phones in their offices after all.

Instead, I suspect that their 5th column of ‘trusted advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way) is telling them that the phone calls are all orchestrated by Rush and Sean and others, and that vast majority of country no longer wants these people “living in the shadows”. And they simply are UNABLE to believe otherwise.

It is SICKENING.

The Cheap Labor Express owns the RNC/GOP.

They have already paid for their amnesty candidate just like the last 4 Presidential elections.

We will not be allowed to vote for a President who will stop the invasion within the Uniparty, R and D divisions.

We cannot save the Republic without thinking outside the box that the Uniparty has put us in.

Last night, I told my Representative that she no longer has my support and I will work hard to see her defeated at the next election. I said the same thing to her predecessor, Nancy Boyda, and she was sent packing. I didn’t really have much to do with, but I never told her that. The truth was that her constituents had just become fed up and the rest took care of itself.

Put simply, the Republican Party doesn’t really need the minority vote.

And democrats know it.

That is why Obama is trying to reduce the impact of the white vote nationwide in the same way democrat state governments have in "sanctuary" cities and states like New York, San Francisco and others.

2010 CENSUS:

http://tinyurl.com/WhitePopulation

USA - 72.4% White, 16.4% Hispanic, 12.6% Black

New York - 58.3% White 17.3% Hispanic, 15.9% Black

California - 40.1% White 37.6% Hispanic 6.2% Black

There are already 23 states plus the District of Columbia where the percentage of whites is below the national level of 72.4%

So far only four states (Hawaii, California, New Mexico, Texas) plus the District of Columbia have less than 50% whites.

Republicans fall all over themselves to pander to Hispanics. There really is no one representing white interests.

All you have to do is tell the truth. Americans cannot afford to subsidize anymore freeloaders than we have already, especially not to ensure our country is taken over by people that can’t even manage their own country. Illegal amnesty just means opening your wallets wider, having to scoot over and give others your seat on the bus who don’t deserve it, and giving away your country to a people who have no vision of the future that will destroy it.

Given their record in the rest of the world over the years, if I were a minority immigrant I would dread the day the Judeo Christian mostly white majority becomes a minor influence in the governing of this country.

we already are a minor influence. and shrinking daily.

But your statement is right. They should fear our loss of influence BUT almost all of them, regardless of skin color, place of birth, language, culture, religion - they have all been taught, educated and brainwashed to HATE the white Christian and that the WC is to blame for all the world’s inequalities and injustices.

The hatred is so strong they will vote and support those that WILL make their lives hell on earth just to destroy Christian whites, their ultimate hated Boogeyman.

Most of them don’t care. They are trying to please their big donors first.

[We need to ask ourselves why our Republican politicians are supporting the Democrat agenda?]

I think it is worse than that, they are liberal lying thieving and evil men who are rinos, the GOP is worthless in DC and should be ignored by all conservative states who, if necessary, must secede from the communist regime of obamantion to save America from the enemies within.
