Those people will still report to their job; the vast majority still will report to work. They just won’t get paid on time, but they will get paid.

Fortitude?

Boehner?

This is an early chapter in the book.

Just one in an endless saga playlist..

THAT WE have survived as a “union” is a mystery to me.

It must be a sacred oath.. Lay down your life .. Kind of thingy..

That so many seek a path toward and Forward into an abyss doesn’t surprise me.

The lessons of the early 20th century are lost.

Its all about societal ‘drifting’ these days.

And now, Obammy wants to take the keys to the internet away..

And keep the illegals flowing and damn the communicable diseases threat.

Really?

I agree with you in principle but, that isn’t how politics is played.

It seems more likely, that Leadership allowed 50 Tea Party reps to go rogue and defeat this.

This enables them to say to the opposition and the present “Did our best but schucks, we don’t control everyone. We’re gonna need to sit down and figure something out.

Neither of us will get 100% of what we want but, we can come up with some bipartisan agreement”.

These things don’t happen in a vacuum.

Leadership blows kisses, offers valuable seats on committees, support from RSCC, RHCC, GOP, GOP-E, etc.

Maybe boner is using these 50 to get there but, from where I stand and observing his performance over the last few years, I have my doubts about his effectiveness.

I forgot. Why don’t Boehner/McConnell emphasize that the Homeland Security will still be majority staffed? I just read where two Republicans said, “We shouldn’t close down Homeland Security”. These people are hopeless.

I would love to see Louie Ghomert as house speaker.
He’s real smart and has no problem with the media.

Whenever these shutdowns happen, the GOP needs to respond to the blame game with pride, and take credit for it. “Yes, we shut down the government and we fully and without regret take responsibility. And we have the votes to keep it shut down until at least January 2017. Elections, as you say, have consequences. Among other things, the electorate loudly and clearly voted to get our fiscal house in order. And we intend to do just that. The federal budget is wildly out of control.
We know that the budget can be balanced without jeopardizing
the safety and security of our citizens and the well-being of the most vulnerable.”

But, but how will we be protected from 80 year old grandmas in wheelchairs at the airport?

I know, right. Those leather purses containing Bingo coins are a muthaf---.

Yes and also there was Cantor’s loss.
Senators don’t have to listen to their constituents- they only have to please the big donors and the media- but, as Cantor’s loss showed, that ain’t true for the House.
Boehner’s schemes are great for pleasing the donors and the media but require conservative members to vote against their constituents’ interests.

AND the conservatives are organized now. This was a raw show of power by the House Freedom Caucus.

How about we shut down the entire government, arrest Obama and the majority of Congress for treason, then put real conservatives in their place?

I love the idea and sentiment about the ar’s, but obama’s govt will define who “real” citiznes are. Would get them into all the very, very wrong hands.

Now what?

The DHS employees will show up for work, won't get a paycheck (so they say) until this is settled and will get all their back pay owed. So, basically, nothing!

I suspect that Boehner rigged this to fail. This gives him a pretext to cave.

+1

From what I hear in Texas Muslims are flowing over the border now. Doesn’t much matter if we have DHS or not.

I get irritated listening to Rush Limbaugh harping on the media blame game.

Your radio does have a tuning dial/station changer, doesn't it?

This is so great. There is now a wonderful scenario to send the Senate the Bill the House sent the first time. The Senate caved!! the House DID NOT!!. Thank you Democrats for your help.
The other possibility will totally destroys the republican party. That is where boohooner ( now doing a Hitler you tube rant , crying uncontrollably, chain smoking and drinking straight shots) joins with 28 RINOS and Nancy Pelosi and ratifies the Kings immigration decree by funding it with the Senate capitulation bill. I think this will happen. Third party anyone?

I could very well be Speaker of the House... membership in the House is not a prerequisite for the position.
