McConnell uses Reid Trick Against Conservatives (more proof of their complicity)

In the last two years there have been two major attempts by conservatives to defund catastrophic policies. One attempt was Obamacare in October of 2013 and the other attempt was executive amnesty this week.

In both attempts, the Republican House-passed bills were amended in the Senate to reinstate funding for Obamacare and executive amnesty.

In both attempts, the Republican House-passed bills were amended in the Senate to reinstate funding for Obamacare and executive amnesty.

In both cases, there weren’t 60 votes in the Senate to reinstate funding for these policies. So the majority leaders at the time had to resort to procedural chicanery to lower the threshold for reinstating funding to 51 votes.

In both circumstances, the Senate majority leader blocked out conservative amendments in favor of liberal amendments. In both attempts the exact same parliamentary tricks were used to reinstate funding. In the Obamacare fight it was liberal Harry Reid using the trick to reinstate Obamacare funding. In the executive amnesty fight it was newly elected Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, who today used the exact same parliamentary trick to reinstate funding for Obama’s executive amnesty with 51 votes instead of 60.

The only difference was one majority leader was labeled Republican and the other labeled Democrat, but they both took the exact same course of action to restore funding for a major Obama priority that will change our country forever.

That’s what happens when people work together for over thirty years...and both viscerally hate conservatives and conservatism.

Meet the new boos, same as the old boss.

This is why we ran all those primary challenges. And why we need to do so again in 2016.

*************
Why would 2016 be any different from 2014? Republicans are what they are.

I am very close to being done with the Republican party. What’s the point of voting Republican if they’re just going to do what the Democrats were going to do?

So it takes 60 votes to do anything to reduce government but only 51 to grow government. What a system.

The bill goes back to the house now and can be amended there at which point the amended bill could not be reamended after put back for a vote. So, for it to pass without the amendments Boehner would have to pass a bill with no amendments. If he does this, he should be removed as speaker even if it ends up with a dem in charge as there is a distinction without a difference.

Ditch will undoubtedly use some parliamentary trick to get the bill back the way he and Harry (the Dim Bulb) want it.

I’m actually starting to believe that Republicans don’t want the Presidency or the majority.

Well, this is one of two things: (1) a final sellout and expose’ of anti-American, professional RINOs..or... (2) a good ploy to use amendments to the bill (by Boner, et al) to snuff this atrocity.

OK, Repubs. This is it. Now or never.

Why would 2016 be any different from 2014? Republicans are what they are.

It's tedious of them, but enemies rarely give up after one shot. The Left has been working to undermine the U.S. since 1919 or so. What if it took us, say, a decade of sustained effort to do what we want to do? Would you give up?

Republicans just want re-election, and the perks of DC power.

If you keep voting for them they’re going to keep doing the same things. Nothing will change. You can’t reward them for non-performance. Its like keeping someone on the payroll who refuses to work. We desperately need a new party IMO. The GOP is a failure, and rotten to the core.

Exactly right. Its all about them, not about us. They talk and promise and talk and promise. But what do they ever accomplish? The GOP base needs to wise up.

Until the leadership is expunged and conservatives with balls are in charge, nothing will fundamentally change.

If you had any hope whatsoever that the GOP majority would move to restore the country you are in for a major disappointment. They will do nothing. Not today, not tomorrow, not next month.

I think this is a good trick . Krathammer said it should be used to pass the bill as written in the house. That would mean Obama would have to veto it or it would shut down his amnesty stuff

I have no doubt that there is complicity...

even this takeover of the internet...the pubs could defund....but they won't....

immigration...nada...

once so much power is grabbed they meaning the ruling class will never relinquish it....

we used to have a loud and proud anti govt die hard leftist group in this country that would have never let this stand...but they too have been coerced....

whey you elect a dictator, by voting, not voting, or voting for third party...this is what you get...

the old America will never forgive you....
