I wise man once told me anything less than 30.06 is for the lesser man.
I AM the lesser man, but with my AR-15, I can still kill a tyrant's stooge come to kill me. I don't shoot .308 rifles well, because I don't have the upper body strength. But I can shoot the AR-15 very accurately, ringing steel on every round in a magazine at 100 yards.
There are guns for everyone. One size does not fit all.
Buying panic is a good thing. I like to think of all the ammunition flying off the shelves into free men’s hands. We should have a good panic at least once a year.
