Very sad. Prayers up for his family as they deal with this trajedy.
If this truly is a suicide, he did in a way (doing it in another room while his wife was home) that was hurtful to his wife. It must have been terrible for her to be the one to see this, “in the raw”, first.

Interesting facts:
Danforth Special Counsel Investigation into Waco Siege
Schweich served as chief of staff to the next two ambassadors to the United Nations, Anne W. Patterson and John R. Bolton.
In 2005, Schweich became the second-highest ranking and then highest-ranking international law enforcement official in the U.S. State Department as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Acting Assistant Secretary of State at the Bureau for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs
On January 28, 2015, Schweich announced he would run for Governor of Missouri, setting up a Republican primary with former Missouri House Speaker Catherine Hanaway.
On Feb. 26, 2015.. shot dead due to a ‘self-inflicted gunshot wound’.

Who can say what passes through the mind of a suicidal person. A dear friend of mine, doing well in a new job up in Green Bay, took his own life unexpectedly. There had been signs of depression and a couple of bouts with alcoholism which we all thought were behind him.
Sad, sad, sad...

Requested press, then did suicide instead. Wonder what was going to be released? Was suicide the easier course? Sad.

So....you're making phone calls. And then just decide to eat your gun.
Was he threatened? Was he being black-mailed?
Wonder who he was talking to.
Wonder if that is the correct story.

“His death was confirmed by his office early Thursday afternoon, just hours after Schweich had requested an interview with reporters for the Post-Dispatch and the Associated Press at his Clayton home later in the day.”
What was he going to say or confess?

And why was it worth his life?

Apparently, one of the most dangerous jobs in Missouri is running for Governor...

Schweich and Bolton spoke at a Missouri Republican dinner a couple of years ago here at Lake of the Ozarks. Schweich had made a name for himself as a hard nosed auditor of state agencies, and a damned good public speaker. In fact, he stole the show from John Bolton as I recall.
He was a short, balding, banty rooster of a man, full of confidence and smart as a whip when it came to the law.
He could have been our next governor. What a waste.

Very odd...
Not suggesting anything, but not ruling it out, either.

Oh late there have been a lot of these questionable deaths:
- Brietbart,
- Hastings,
- Clancy,
- The producer for the Gray State movie (and documentary),
- This.
One begins to wonder how many of these 'convenient' deaths are less than coincidental.

Sad for his family....
