I hear you about the WWII vets. But I’ve always been disappointed when I asked a WWII vet who they supported for president. Everyone of them said “Obama”.
I’d like to see a study showing what percentage of WWII vets vote democrat. I got a feeling it’s pretty lop sided. jmo as of now.
Their CIC was Roosevelt and he ground Germany and Japan down to dust.
Younger veterans skew heavily Republican. Middle-aged and elderly move Democrat or neutral.

Because they all got old and wanted more benefits. Also keep in mind that the Democrats of their day loved the country.
