Wednesday on the “Tom Joyner Morning Show,” in discussing this week’s Justice Department announcement that there is not sufficient evidence to charge George Zimmerman with intentionally violating the civil rights of Trayvon Martin during the 2012 confrontation that tragically resulted in the shooting death of Martin, Al Sharpton said he is now planning to work to “lower the threshold” that legally qualifies who is prosecuted for a federal hate crime.
Sharpton explained, “The intent to prove that Zimmerman did it because of his race, that is the legal threshold,” adding, ” Unless we change that legislation, we end up where we are in terms of the Trayvon Martin case. Clearly I’m disappointed. Clearly I’m sure the family is....

I have a better idea: let’s dispose of the legal fiction of “hate crime,” and simply prosecute crime. If I were to, e.g., kill someone out of spite—which is the basis for “hate crime”—then I can be said to have planned it beforehand, since I did not have any individual-specific reason to kill the victim, and that is murder one, or capital murder. “Hate crimes” are thought crimes, and thought crimes are the hallmark of tyrannies.
Al Sharpton and the radical ‘racial police’ want to make nearly every action into some sort of hate crime. But the rules forbid anything like ‘hate’ crime being charged against a black person.
This is nothing more than irresponsible legislation designed to punish people for their skin color - i.e. for being descendants of Europe.
So, basically Al wants to make it illegal to defend yourself against an african american. That’s the only way what he’s saying makes any sense in regard to the Zimmerman case.

What would the threshold need to be set at to so that Weirder Al can be charged as a hate monger?
“Al Sharpton, who came down, and he said Tuesday night, kill the Jews, two times. I heard him, and he started to lead a charge across the street to Utica”
How about lowering the threshold for incarceration for Sharpton.
Can Mr. Zimmerman sue Mr. Sharpton for defamation of character for the inference he's making?
Al “Jew them down” Sharpton is on record as a hateful bigot.
Has he decided if GZ is white or Hispanic yet?
What he really means is that he wants all crime by whites against blacks to be defined as hate and no crime by blacks against whites can be hate.
If “hate crimes” were to be applied on a totally unbiased manner, there would also be “hate crimes” committed by blacks against whites, and against Christians by Muslims.
But no such “even-handed” application of the provisions of the law as written have been made known by the authorities who supposedly have used this criteria with “prosecutorial discretion”.
