Well, this makes complete sense when you think about it, after all everyone knows that you feel WAY smarter after drinking a lot.
My adopted brother is considered a vulnerable adult. His IQ as a child was right at the level of mental retardation. All of his friends are probably at that level, give or take some points. Trust me, alcohol is a HUGE part of their lives. He is limited because my parents live about 15 miles away and call him daily. If he is at a bar, mom goes to pick him up before he goes too far. They also talk him out of spending too much money at the liquor store, gently reminding him about the consequences of too much drink and too little money for bills and groceries. They have to do this every single week.
She and her friend (whose son is lower functioning than my brother) compare stories about how embarrassing it is to pick them up from seedy bars. Her friend has even had to pay his stripper tab. A different world for two conservative women in their sixties!
Excessive alcohol use from a fairly young age would probably lower IQ as well, but in my experience, low functioning people are drawn to alcohol like a moth to a flame.
Killing off those brain cells.
I think Boehner and McConnell are among the heaviest drinkers in congress, a coincidence?
Oh, I don't deny their premise, I just point out that Weed makes people stupid too, and probably more so. Certainly in my own experience with weed smokers.
And it took a RESEARCH STUDY to determine this?
As Paul Newman said in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof..”I drink so I can stand myself..I drink until I hear that CLICK”!...CLASSIC..
And most fat people east more than normal people, and....
I guess Bertrand Russell and all those drunken “genius” artists we hear about are the exceptions.
Maybe they became drunks after they did their best work.
