What I don’t get is why Ted Cruz isn’t in the top two or three.

For most of his national career, Cruz has been (a) a minority party senator who (b) spends a lot of time making rousing and truthful speeches, but strictly in front of very friendly audiences.

(B) makes him very popular in places like FR. But it doesn't show that he can take on the Democrats in their houses and beat them, as Walker has.

I like Cruz a lot and if he is the nominee, I'll support him completely. But at this point he hasn't shown me that he can win any states that Romney didn't. Our kind of conservatism is a minority taste these days.

If you think Romney lost because he didn’t tack far enough to the left, Bush is the candidate for you.

Romney lost because he communicated no vision and conservatives stayed home. When the base doesnt rally, no one rallies.

We need to nominate someone who inspires the base, not someone who is so squishy that they stand for nothing.
