The proportion of Democrats who sympathize more with Israel than with Palestinians in the Mideast conflict dropped ten points this year to 48 percent, according to a new poll by Gallup.
The polling company suggested a link to tensions between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu over the Iran nuclear threat.
In addition, the percentage of Democrats viewing Israel favorably also droppedby 14 pointsover the past year, from 74 percent to 60, the poll found.
By contrast Republican sympathy for Israel over the Palestinians rose to 83 percent, continuing a trend that has risen from the low 50s in the late-1990s. Only in its 2010 poll did Gallup record a higher GOP sympathy for Israel, at 85 percent.

This is the same party that booed God at their last convention?
Duh!
Good thing we have Gallup to inform us of the obvious.
The nazis are having some impact. Hard for them not to when it floods out of the WH every damned day like the sewer treatment plant sprung a big leak. Prey for America!
Yeah, no kidding.
They don’r refer to them as the DemonRats for nuthin’
There has almost always been strong bipartisan support for Israel. The islamobazi coup takeover of the D party headquarters is unfortunately doing some damage, making support for Israel, anything Christian or Jewish— anything like judeo- Christian morals or ethics — anything from Western Civilization like principles of liberty and tolerance and Justice — all derived from Biblical origins — all are now trashed by the new islamoNazi- controlled D party central apparatus. It’s now Christians and Jews and Americsns who believe in restoring s d upholding liberty and our constitution —, On the defensive against a daily onslaught of attacks from the dictatorship in WashDC.
This is the downside of pushing Israel as a partisan cause, it alienates Americans of all political persuasions. Thank people that push Israel over American interests, that think idiotic moves for political cheap shots like Boehner’s invite is good. This was a stupid move, Israel is the loser, Boehner is the loser. Again, who in their right mind thinks bringing a foreign leader to the U.S. to trash America is a good idea?! Ask anyone who is not an Israeli citizen or a dual citizen if this is a good idea. Loyal Americans will say no, it is not. We will never side against America and take great offense to those that do. Traitor and treason come to mind.
And don’t think it is easy to dismiss this, it is not. I am an American, I am a veteran, I am conservative. Trash me and other Americans and veterans as a messenger all you want. But don’t put me in a spot to choose defending America (right or wrong) or supporting a foreign county. The latter will lose.
The Left is framing the issue just as you have. I fear that you are getting too much of your news from television. Bibi is coming here to warn about a deal with Iran which threatens the existence of his country. He will say nothing negative about our country or our President. Both his office and Boehner's tried to clear the visit with the White House, but got no response. There is no political gamesmanship here, except on Obama's part.
If I wanted to hear what you had to say, I would have read Stormfront or some other website. Please stop trolling FR.
I agree with you completely. This anti-Israeli sentiment originates largely from the Whitehouse and the liberal media is complying with their marching orders. I wouldn’t have believed it if we were not living through it.
A nuclear Iran means the end not only of Israel but possibly of the civilized world as we know it. There can be no doubt that if Iran gets the bomb they will use it and millions of people will die. In this case Israel’s interests are also in the best interest of the United States and our president is playing fast and loose with our future.
Iran’s primary target is the Great Satan, and I presume everyone on FR knows whom they mean by that. Israel’s the Little Satan, in their twisted eschatology.
Whose fault is it that it’s a partisan issue? Following the Constitution is now a partisan issue? Should we give up on that since it’s “alienating” people?
bringing a foreign leader to the U.S. to trash America is a good idea?!
is incorrect. Netanyahu is not coming to the States to TRASH the USA. What he is doing though is ringing the bell of warning for Israel, AND American interests that the pending “deal” with Iran is nothing more than CAVING in (Appeasement) to terror and a very bad future scenario where Iran goes nuclear. So, the call is not a slap in the US’s face but rather an Israeli leader looking out for Israeli, American and Western interests in the long run, something we seem to be blind about right now.
Unfortunately, not everyone on FR knows which country the leadership of Iran believes is the “Great Satan”. The problem is that Obama’s words and actions make one wonder which country he believes is the “Great Satan”. Unfortunately, I fear that his actions may result in a catastrophe that is nearly unimaginable.
Unfortunately there are many in the eco-commie movement that truly believe that the deaths of millions of people and the collapse of modern civilization is in mother earth’s best interest.
How can something at zero drop? What, they’re now into raw hatred?
The International Left, and now the US Left, have always been hostile to Israel.
